They have shifted from their fourth floor flat, in Shakti Apartments, Kalyan Complex, Versova, into Rani's brother, Raja's third floor flat.
There were reports that Rani and family had moved out en masse to a hotel. "What rubbish!" dismisses Raja. "We are not staying in a hotel, but are all together on the third floor of Shakti."
Rani's eye for detail Adds Raja, "They have shifted here temporarily, as both flats are being renovated. We have built a room on the third floor, where we are temporarily staying. |
| | | Ram Mukerji with daughter-in law Jyoti Mukerji | Some changes are being made, some reconstruction and repair work. Rani and dad are looking into the entire affair. An interior designer is decorating the place, but Rani is looking into each and every detail minutely."
The Mukerjis could have continued to live in the same apartment in which the work was going on, but moved out because, "Dad hasn't been keeping well. He's had two bypass operations and we want to keep him away from the dust. That could aggravate his condition and we don't want to take any chances."
Raja will become a dad soon — are the grandparents-to-be planning a nursery for the baby? "Hardly," laughs Raja, "there is more than enough time for that. Jyoti is due in May."
| | Dia out of Raja's Bengali film
RAJA is busy with the pre-production of his Bengali film, Bidhataar Lekha. "Dia Mirza is not acting in the film, because of date problems. Instead, we will be working with a new girl.
The rest of the lead will be formed by Bengali star Jeet, and Priyanshu Chatterjee, who will play a negative role for the first time." The film, a romantic thriller, will be shot entirely in Darjeeling from September, and has music by Lalit Pandit (who is going solo after doing many films with brother, Jatin).
Move over Ekta
After Prratima Raja also has two new serials under his belt, to be aired on Doordarshan from April. "Both are family dramas. One is about the love between Hindus and Muslims, and is titled Kehkashan, while we have to shoot the pilot for the second, which is called Kisi Ki Nazar Na Lage. I want to set up both projects and create the look after which, when I start shooting for my film, I will put another director in charge."
Raja's Krissh
THERE is one more baby that Raja will be delivering soon, and that has him excited. "I am also launching my new post-production studio, Krisshram Edits, at Crystal Plaza in Andheri, on February 10," he tells us proudly.
"KE will have editing for TV and films, graphics, titling, special effects — the works, all under one roof. It will have all the latest high-tech machines, and will be a studio where you can cut promos and music videos too." | | |
