how will public voting work?

Can someone enlighten me on how public votes are going to be counted?

I am most confused since voting supposedly begins for the teams on the day of their show whereas the show is pre-recorded number one and secondly the results are declared on the same night on which the show is aired as to who won and who lost.

Please do help in my understanding how this whole thing is supposed to work.

This is really confusing. Many people do not know that program is pre-recorded. People are wasting money when they are voting.
