AAYIRATIL ORUVAN




Itz a long-awaited movie from sevaraghavan,the director who gave hitz like 7G Rainbow Colony, Pudupettai, Kadhal Konden, Aduvari Mataluku Ardale Verule (Telugu version of Yaaradi Nee Mohini). It was 2006 when he gave his last film. The songs from this movie has already become a blockbuster. Some among them are Un Mela Aasadhan, O-Eesa and Maalai Neram. The film hitz the screen this Pongal 2010. The film has been shot with a huge budget. For Karthi, this is the second movie after his debut Paruthiveeren. Reema, the real hero of the movie is amazing. Andrea also does a good job. The movie has opened to positive reviews.

The story goes like this:

Archaelogist Lavanya (Andrea Jeremiah), Anitha (Reema Sen) and a troupe of government forces go on a voyage to an island in Vietnam to find 'some truth'. Helping them is a team of coolies led by Sukumaran (Karthi). As they cross oceans and enter forests, moments loaded with thrill, suspense and tension welcome them. At one point of time, the lead trio (Karthi, Andrea and Reema) is left alone from their team. They find an ethnic Tamil group living in the island, ruled by a king (Parthiban).

Stuck by drought and poverty, people in the place believe in black magic and practice it. As the trio is about to be killed, Reema reveals a truth. What follows is a lengthy second half, which ends abruptly.

KUTTY




Itz one of the expected movies of 2010. Itz a remake from the telugu blockcuster movie Arya. The film releases this Pongal 2010. The songs are chartbuster. Feel My love, Life-e Jolly dhan are some among them. Dhanush having continuous hitz from Thiruvilayadal Aarambam is sure that this movie will make it big in the BO. Shriya is appearing in a de-glam role. It seems to be a triangular love story. The director Mithran R Jawahar has his previous hit Yaaradi Nee Mohini under his belt. Itz a clean entertainer which makes you fall in love.

The story goes like this:

Shriya and Sameer Dattani are in the same college and at one point Sameer Dattani coerces Shriya to love him and there enters Dhanush. Dhanush loves Shriya and Shriya loves Sameer. And it's not a love triangle. It is also not one sided love. Yes, don't get confused. When Shriya tries to ignore Dhanush, he offers to help her and Sameer. At the same time he also challenges Sameer to save his love and see to that Shriya doesn't fall for him. Finally when Sameer's politician father Radha Ravi plans to marry off Sameer to his friend's daughter the couple run away from home and Danush brings them to his village after fighting a dozen of henchmen on the way. Suddenly Sameer disappears and Dhanush takes care of Shriya until Sameer returns after week with his father after convincing him. They all then return and at the time of marriage Shriya tells Sameer she wants only Kutty. All end there.

The movie has been in talks among the common since itz launch. The movie initially had Nayanthara in the lead. Due to some salary problem, Tamanna was roped in to play the female lead. This film is Karthi's third innings. Tamanna after her back to back hitz through Sun Pictures is the female lead. The songs have been released and got good reviews. There is more hype and expectations on this entertainer. The story of this movie is based on journey in highway. Paiyaa is all about the protagonist meeting his love and hate on his journey. The action packed entertainer given in a different way with the highways and the travel as the backdrop. It is a travelogue kind of action adventure. Karthi starts a journey from Bangalore to Mumbai along with Tamannah. The hurdles they face during their trip and they overcome everything is 'Paiyaa' to you.

VINNAITHAANDI VARUVAAYA

The movie is "a different love story yet again". Gautam Menon, known for his stylish, hollywood style of making films is directing this film. After the much talked Harris-Gautam split, Gautam joins hands with ARR. The music is out and has opened to very good reviews. Hosanna is like the national anthem among the youngsters. All the songs are widely accepted. Simbu, after having paused his usual commercial films has tried something different. Trisha, the actress having the girl next door looks is donning the female lead. The film is one of the highly anticipated movies of 2010. The film releases during the month of February.

Its a cute love story between Karthik and Jessie. Young and colorful are two words that describe the story of Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya. Set to the urban trend adapted by the younger generation today, the film revolves around poetic love that takes form between our lead characters Karthik (Silambarasan) and Jessie (Trisha).

Simbhu plays the role of an assistant director, who's only dream is to become a successful film maker. He falls in love and almost decides to give up on his long-term dream for the love of his life – Jessie; Trisha plays a role of a Christian girl.

With all complications piled up, would Karthik fulfill his dream of becoming a film maker? Would Karthik and Jessie come together in their lives? And would Jessie still be waiting for him?

The film is another treat for audiences. After the super hitz Chennai 600028 and Saroja, director Venkat Prabhu is set to score hattrick with this movie. The movie is set in the backdrops of Goa. The usual rib-tickling comedies and entertainment can be expected from this movie. Premji and co provides comic releif. Sneha is touted to play the female lead with negative shades. Piya, after her diasterous Poi Solla Porum plays another female lead. The producer is the superstar's second daughter Soundarya. Her debut directorial venture is Sultan the warrior. She turns Producer with this film. Originally planned to release this Pongal 2010, the movie backed put of the race at the last moment. The music is out. The soundtrack has a family song sung by Venkat Prabhu and family and a club mix on the title track which is the highlight.

After his blockbuster Aadhavan, Ravikumar is back into the form with his Jaggubhai. This film has Sarathkumar in the lead. Shriya, who plays the daughter of Sarathkumar is the female lead. Veteran comedian Gaundamani plays an important role in this film after many years of rest. The film has music by debutant Rafee. The audio launch was attended by our genius ARR and CM Karunanidhi. Itz stylishly made with a lavishing budget. It is said to be released in February.

The film's story goes like this:

Jagannathan, (Sarath Kumar) fondly known as 'Jaggubhai'. is an Indian Police Officer with sharp methods. His way of dealing the criminals strikes terror in the underground world. Tough is just an ordinary word to describe this upright, straight forward police officer. Jaggubhai is sent to Australia on an important mission to deal with anti social elements there. In Australia, Jaggubai meets Meena (Srisha) and they both fall in love with each other. Jaggubai fails in his mission for which he came to Australia and the brief romance with Meena also ends abruptly. Jaggubai returns to India as a dejected officer failing in his official duty and in personal life.

But fate had something in store for him. Twenty years later he gets a call from Australia stating that Meena is dead and has left him a will. He reaches Australia and is shocked to know that the brief encounter with Meena had resulted in a daughter 'Nikki' (Shriya Saran), now a teenager. Jaggubai realises that has left behind his daughter and her wish that Jaggubhai should protect her.

Nikki thinks that he is mother's friend and tries to act cranky. Threat comes in the form of some anti social elements who want to eliminate Nikki. These thugs were the same ones who had tricked Jaggubai some 20 years earlier. Now, it is Jaggubai's duty to save his only daughter and settles old scores with the thugs. He now meets his former colleague Mani (Goundamani). With his help he overcomes the crisis and eventually finds out why Meena left him and the reason for bringing him back into his daughter's life.

This is Ajith's 49th film. This is regarded as another billa for Ajith. Earlier staed to hit screens for this Pongal 2010, it backed out due to extensive post-production work. It has Bhavana playing Ajith's lady love. Earlier it was stated that Sameera has more prominence. The audio is out. It was launched simply in Sivaji Ganesan's house. The movie has two duets with Bhavana, one with Sameera and some picturised on "thala". The film is regarded as the most expensive film made for Ajith. Ajith has a new avatar in this film with a long mustache. Grapevines are abuzz that Ajith is doing dual roles in this film which are entirely different from each other. The film is shot in exotic locales of Hungary and other foreign countries. The film will hit the screens during the middle of February. It is one of the highly anticipated movies by ajith fans.

THEERATHA VILAYATTU PILLAI

Vishal's film where we can see him in a playboy avatar. He is romancing three heroines. Prakashraj, Sneha and Reema Sen are maikng guest appearances. The film, produced by Vikram Krishna, stars his brother Vishal Krishna in lead role along with Neetu Chandra of Yavarum Nalam fame, Tanushree Dutta, former Miss India Universe debuting in Kollywood, and Sarah-Jane Dias, former Miss India World making her acting debut, whilst Santhanam, Oorvasi and Mouli among others play supporting roles. The film is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and filmed by Arvind Krishna and is being dubbed into Telugu as Khilladi and will be released simultaneously with the Tamil version. It was originally slated for a Pongal release. Now it will release in the early february. It is rumoured that Sun Pictures has acquired the distribution rights of TVP.
