Lara Dutta has replaced Sushmita Sen in Priyadarshan's next venture. Sushmita Sen said that was unable to commit herself to the film because of the shows that she had to do abroad. "I had already my commitment to the show organizers. I had to back out of Priyadarshan's film," she said. Sush also lamented that Priyadarshan was one director she was looking forward to working with but unfortunately she would now have to wait for another offer from him. Sanjay Upadhayay, Lara's secretary, saw this as an opportunity and promptly got Lara to sign the film.
