The Blackout
Prem and Heer had best friends since childhood. Their parent shared the strongest friendship in the history of all friendships. But never had the two thought that one day, they would end up being each other's life partners.
They were both the only child of their parents and had no siblings. And because of that, they both relied on each other for friendship and company. But they had never imagined tying the knot and sharing the friendship and company in the closest form. The closest form being "Marriage."
Prem and Heer would spend hours talking to each other. They would go to the mall, to the movies, or to the restaurants together or with their common friends.

But everything changed in the course of just one day. It was a day last month, when Prem's bauji, Lalit had started to grown ill. Everyone was at his side the entire day. He was having severe heartburn and had a lot of difficulty breathing.
Heer had rushed into the house with her parents Balraj and Teji Mann. Balraj was instantly at his best friend's side and Teji was consoling a shattered Gayatri. Heer was just looking at her "Daddy Cool" with tears brimmed eyes.
Heer had always been very close to both Gayatri and Lalit. And the same went for Prem, who her parents literally adored.
But as she sat there by Lalit's side, she noticed that her buddy was no where to be seen. But inside, she knew exactly where she would find him.
She quietly left the room and headed back towards the wood behind his house. She walked until she reached the same lake that was at the end of the woods. Being a chilly winter day, she was shivering in her jeans and her lime green, Hollister t-shirt. Her silky, straight, black hair blew swiftly in the wind.
She made her way closer towards the river when she noticed a strong muscular figure, sitting on the ground. The cold weather didn't seem to have bothered him. Maybe because he was wearing a black hoodie along with navy blue colored jeans. His hair was still because he just had a haircut and there wasn't much hair to blow. His legs were slightly crunched in front of him and his hands were crossed across his chest.
Even without looking at his face, she knew exactly what he was going though. One point in time, she had been in the same position and at that time, he was her support. And today, he needed her.
As she took the steps closer to him, he could feel her presence. She saw him stiffen and wipe away her tears. He turned around and faced her with a fake smile. But who was he kidding?
She knew him more then he knew himself. She stared into his eyes and could easily see the pain in his eyes. He got up slowly and looked at her sweetly. She always knew him so well so there was no point in hiding his pain. He knew that she could see right though his heart. That was their unique relationship.
Without saying much, she pulled him into a bear hug. Something that he needed at the time. Seeing her close to his heart, he let his pain drain out of himself.

Upon Lalit's recovery, Lalit had asked Heer's hand for Prem. Balraj and Lalit had called them both in, one day, and put forth this alliance. To say that they were shocked was an understatement. They were kind of terrified.
Lalit had said that he had always wished for Heer as his bahu. He told them that his health wasn't quite well and only God knew when his breaths would stop.
Hearing this, Prem and Heer's eyes well-up.
Balraj had wished the same for the two. Prem was the only guy who could ever deserve his daughter. He knew that he would be the best choice for his Heer.
Lalit ended his little talk with the kids by announcing to that that both Balraj and he wished to see them both married. Lalit especially wanted this because his health was doing well.
Without thinking twice, Heer had agreed to it. But Prem couldn't understand it. How could she just decide? It wasn't that he didn't want her to be his future wife. Heer was his life. He had always hid his feelings from her because he was scared to lose this precious friendship.
And here they were. She just agreed to something that she may not every want to be in. He couldn't resist the urge to ask her why she agreed. The last thing he ever wanted in his life was having to force the girl he loved dearly into marriage. But she agreed for his father's sake. At that moment, he felt so guilty for bringing her in this situation.

Now here they were. Prem and Heer were now engaged and their wedding was fixed for next week. Right now, they were in the car, going back home after visiting the mandir to give God their wedding invitation.
Since the day the talk about their marriage was brought up, he had noticed their relationship turn from comfortable and open heart to tension filled.
Heer was not as close to him as she had always been and this made him feel guilty and distressed. He wanted everything to be normal again. But he also knew that he was the cause of all this.
The entire car ride was silent. And as they approached their, the only sound that they could hear was pounding rain that was falling outside.
The entire day had been gloomy and dark. Gayatri had told both Prem and Heer that today was a good day to give their wedding invitation to God. So they left in the morning. But then Gayatri called him once again and told him to take Heer with him for the wedding shopping.
He knew that when it came to shopping, Heer was a magnet. She bought everything that attracted her. But this time, there was a certain formality that was annoying him. And he couldn't do anything about it.

As he stopped the car in front of his house. It was nearly 8:30 at night and the weather outside was dangerously beautiful. The rain was pounding hard on the ground and the lightening strikes were visible in the dark shaded sky.
Prem and Heer quickly got out of the car and ran inside the house for shelter. But there was no point. They were practically drenched. Prem looked at Heer whose red and green colored sawlar was partially wet. Her long hair was coated with tiny droplets of the water crystals. She had instantly taken his breath away and he didn't know how he had the courage to control his heart. But he also knew his limits.
Seeing her state, he decided to help her out.
"I'll be right back." He told her and she gave him a sweet smile.
Prem went upstairs to his room to get a towel for her to dry up. After picking out the towel from his bathroom, he turned around to head downstairs. But he stopped in his tracks when he saw her there standing there in front of him. There was no expression on her face. She slowly walked closer to him.
"Where's Maa?" she asked him with a slight smile. He didn't know where his mom was either.
"I don't know. I'll call her." He handed her the towel and then got his phone to call his mother. He found out that Lalit, Balraj, Gayatri, and Teji had gone to some friend's house and they were going to stay over for the night. Gayatri told him to keep Heer with him as she had noticed the weather outside and didn't want her to be alone.
Prem agreed as it wasn't anything new for them because Heer and Prem would always stay over each other's houses. But for the last one month, the matter was different. After assuring his mom that he will take care of Heer, he hung up.
Prem turned around and found her drying her wet hair. Her innocent charms made her fall even deeper in love. When she looked at him, he erased his enticed look and gave her a friendly smile.
"It's really bad outside. And no one's at your house. Everyone's at Mittal uncle's house. Maa told me to have you here." He said trying to not sound as if he was making her be here. He looked at her to find an answer but all she did was look into his eyes and search for something.
"I promise I'll drop you home early tomorrow. But I can't leave you alone." He justified why he had to keep her with him. He knew that she trusted him completely. But her hesitant behavior around him made her worry that his best friend was going away from him.
After finding no answer, he decided to get things clear with her. She was hiding something from him and it was important for him to know if it had anything to do with their marriage.
He slowly walked closer to her. She stood there glued to the ground and continued to look at him.
After standing directly in front of her, he decided to clear everything that was bothering her.
"Heer-" He began to say but the loud jolt of thunder striking scared the heck out of her and she clutched her arms around his neck. She was hugging him so tightly as if she never wanted to let go of him.
He knew she was scared to he slightly slipped one hand around her waist and the other hand caressing her hair.
All of a sudden the power went out and the bright room was filled with utter darkness. He felt her clutch on tighter. He knew that she was afraid of the dark so he decided that it would be best if he didn't let go.
"Prem. I'm really scared." Her voice was soft and trembling.
"It's okay Heer. I'm right here. Don't worry. I'll just get the candles." He gently pulled back from the hug and decided to light the candles resting on his side table. But when she moved aside to let him pass her, she accidentally slipped over the towel that fell out of her hands when the thunder stroke. She slipped back and when Prem tried to get a hold of her, he ended up following on his bed along with Heer, who lay on top of him.
His face was buried in her jasmine flavored, silky hair. Her face was resting on his shoulder and she clutched onto him.
He was savoring every moment that he got to feel her. Heer laid there for a couple of minutes and then she noticed that her savior had once again saved her from getting hurt.

He was always saving her. And that's what made her love him even more. Heer Mann loved Prem Juneja like crazy. And she knew that he loved her. But she was also angry that he hadn't told her from his own mouth that he loved her. When she said that she knew him inside out, she was so not kidding. Prem can never hide anything from her, or at least his eyes never let him hide anything. Then why the hell was he even trying? Didn't he get the message that she loved him when she accepted to marry him?
She raised her head to look at him. His coffee warm eyes looked right back at her making her even weaker for acting so different in front of him.
She wanted him to tell her what he felt. How long could he handle this formality in their relationship?

The force of the wind outside made the window in his room open stridently and let in the dazzling, white moonlight to rest of the two lovers.
But the one look at him, and now she was broken. Tears brimmed up her eyes. By just looking at him, her heart over flew with tears. She loved him so much that just by looking at him, tears filled her eyes.
He saw those tears falls out of her precious eyes. He brought up his fingers and gently wiped her tears away. His face clearly showed his worry. The only thing going on in his mind was that Did he make her cry?
"Heer. What happened? Please don't cry. Please Heer." He slowly pulled her closer to himself.
"What's bothering you? Please tell Heer. Please." By now his eyes had also welled up.
Heer pulled herself up a little and decided to tell him what she was dying to tell him so badly.
"When you know that you can't hide anything from me then why do you?" Her voice was soft and gentle. He looked at her with a confused expression. And when she didn't get any response, she finally confessed.
"I love you, you idiot. I love you so much." She said looking at him tear-eyed.
He felt his heart skip a beat upon hearing those words from him. He was literally in utter shock, a good utter shock. A slight smile crept up his lips.
Without even wasting a second, he twirled her over onto bottom and slightly towered himself onto her, making sure that he wasn't touching her at all.
"You'.you what?" He prayed to God that this was not a dream and she better not be joking. He saw a slight smile appear on her lips and the crystal that were well up in her eyes, trail down her cheek.
"I love you Prem. And trust me; I will be the first girl who ever confessed before the guy." She said as she found the barrier she built between them slip away forever.
He was once again surprised to know that she already knew about his love for her.
"I thought you never wanted to marry me. I didn't want to force anything onto you." He whispered back to her sweetly. He slowly got closer to her.
"I know Prem. But do you really think that I was that stupid to not love you." He slowly came closer to her face and felt the warmth of her breath on his cheek.
"You're the only guy I could ever love. You're my life Prem. I'll simply die without you." The last line she said in a low whisper. Her heart was overwhelmed by the release of the burden.
He looked at her with love filled eyes and slowly brought her face that closest it could possibly be. He looked straight into her eyes and finally confessed.
"I love you too Heer. I always loved you. I was just scared to lose you. But I promise to never hide anything ever again." He finally got his feeling out which he had hidden for the last fifteen years.
"I was madly in love with you since the day you became my friend" And saying that, he sealed his lips with hers'. Their heart thumped at the same rate, at the same time. Their first kiss made them know how much they loved each other and how much they had always longed for each other.
They both finally found their path in life. A path that they would walk onto together, hand in hand.

A priceless moment is when the person that you have fallen in love with, looks you right in the eyes to tell you that they have fallen in love with you.

Here is very very first try at writing something for television actors. I know that it didn't go that well, but I guess that it was okay. Hopefully not something that you were disappointed in reading. But tell me how it went. I don't visit the phorum daily but try to once or twice. Tell me if it was okay or if you want me to write better then this. Thanks and I hope you liked my first try!
