As the title suggests, this post is just appreication of Shobna's character in Bairi Piya today!
Shobna exemplifies a woman who has finally acknowledged that she has always been the loser in her war fighting the injustice and promoting avengance. Amoli's final words to her brought her back to reality- where the corrupt world of the Thakurs will never cease to drag into it the frail and young girls of the village against their wishes but what to do when the Thakurs tactfully use their weaknesses to their own advantage! Shobna believed that she was always strong and corageous but was corrected by Amoli that had Shobna been corageous she would have given her life up and saved herself from a life full of hatred and anger which accomplished nothing; instead she should have embraced death and relieving herself of such feelings which compelled her to ruin the lives of other girls...
Shobna faced DV's wrath because she realised that the girl who rescued her is lost, whom she can't express her gratitude too, neither her regrets, nor her confessions!
But then again, both Amoli and Shobna represent the defeat of women in society today, although both "corageous" in their own way-is it always the woman who must sacrifice in order to overcome the injustice??
No bashing please, all comments otherwise appreciated =) x
