Since the song is used in the movie Wake Up Sid as a realisation of love for Konkana, quite a few of u may have wondered the relevance to the situation here...
Here is the meaning of the song ...
Orey manva tu to bavra hai
Tu hi jaane tu kya sochta hai
Tu hi jaane tu kya sochta hai bavre
Kyun dikhaye sapne tu sote jaagte
Oh naive heart of mine...you are wandering and only you know what you are thinking
Why do you make me dream all the time...
Jo barse sapne boond boond
Nainon ko moond moond
Nainon ko moond moond
Jo barse sapne boond boond
Nainon ko moond moond
Kaise main chaloon, dekh na sakoon
Anjaane raastein
My eyes are overflowing with these dreams
and I am unable to walk along this unknown path
as the dreams are blinding me..
Gunjasa hai koi iktara iktara, gunjasa hai koi iktara
Gunjasa hai koi iktara iktara, gunjasa hai koi iktara
Dheeme bole koi iktara iktara, dheeme bole koi iktara
Gunjasa hai koi iktara iktara, gunjasa hai koi iktara
The strains of music from the instrument Iktara can be heard all around...
( I googled on details of Iktara and found that it is a single stringed instrument that is capable of a deep bass and a sharp treble…..and hence is metaphorical of music and the seven notes and life's up and down in general )
Sun rahi hoon sudh budh khoke koi main kahani
Poori kahani hai kya kise hai pata
Main to kisiki hoke yeh bhi na jaani
Ruth hai ye do pal ki ya rehgi sada
kise hai pata… kise hai pata
As I hear the Iktara's music all around me, I can feel myself getting lost in it.
I dont even know what the entire story would be..and if this story is the part of a story or the story itself. How do I know this as I am also a part of this story and I dont know if this story is of a moment or two or would it last forever
So, the premise of the song is the uncertainty of the situation for the girl in question.
Here the song was used in the context of the dreams of Nupur who loves Mayank but has been forced into an engagement with Adhiraj.. She is unsure of her story (her future here) ...she doesnt know what turn her situation would take.. her dreams are of (& with) Mayank but then again, she is not sure of the path ahead...Yet the love fills her like the strains of music from the instrument Iktara...the various shades of love and life...
I cant conclude the topic without stating how much in awe I am of the scene and the way it was acted out and the way the loved filled the atmosphere ....sigh...Love...is indeed like deep strains of music filling our hearts..heart-warming and we got to watch such a beautiful moment today...
