After the first episode when some fan asked Shreya about Anwesha on twitter she replied as follow:

Both anwesha & aishwarya are really good singers. Only thing i dont like is when people compare anwesha to Shreya Ghoshal.

I hear you. I don't like people comparing Shreya to our great Lathaji and say that she sang Latha's song better than original. 😃

I mentioned about that song, i checked it on youtube, I found shreyas version beautiful, i was honest in my comment, not blindly supporting.

And Shreya ghoshal is atleast a well established singer who has given so many hit songs & is eligible to be somewhere near our lataji,

But its unfair to compare Shreya with a low grade singer, of some reality show! Who can only copy pastes from originals & kind of acts like shreyas xerox copy!

It is so ironic you have an ID as Shreya cool and you surely don't come across as cool. 😭 I really don't understand how one can be so malicious for a 16 year old kid and call low grade singer. I don't want to argue with you. You are entitled to your opinion.

Thanks for not arguing, you started it! I respect your opinion! I know its very hard to hear the truth! Original toh original hi rahega, copy paste toh copy paste! Sorry for calling her a singer in fact i should be saying "reality show contestant"

this is coming from insecurity .. i m proud of anwesha now seriously, she is capable enuf to make ppl insecure abt their fav singers :P

It's great to know what you think.....
Shreya is one of the Best singers of our country who was lucky enough to get her break when Lataji and Ashaji were past their prime time; when Kavitaji almost took a voluntary retirement after her marriage which was a big loss to the music industry...Only Alkaji was reigning at that time..

Shreya got noticed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali when she was a contestant in Saregama and he launched her in 'Devdas' in 2002 despite Ismail Durbar's reluctance....Shreya still had to wait till she got 'Jism' songs to become the first choice of the MDs....

I don't think being successful in the industry is directly proportionate to your talent. If it was the case, we would have heard brilliant singers like Nihira Joshi singing in mainstream hindi music...
It's sad that a singer like Nihira couldn't make it big in the industry......

I am a fan of Shreya too, and I followed all the interviews of her. She herself admits that Lataji is her ideal and finds Lataji beyond comparison....All of us including Shreya Ghoshal grew up listening to Lataji and we have put her on this pedestal unanimously..There's no disagreement as to that.

Lataji is talent personified and it takes 75 years of unadulterated dedication and passion towards music, God's immense grace and people's appreciation, adulation and love to be where Lataji is today...There can't be another Lata and Shreya will corroborate my opinion if you get an opportunity to ask her.

Shreya is a very talented, sensible and a humble singer that stepped in the music industry so far... She is on the right path and only time will tell if she will be the next successor of the legacy left behind by Lataji....Anwesha, too, is a very talented, sensible and humble singer that stepped in the music industry till date. Only time will tell if she will be able to make it big in the music industry....

You are entitled to opine that Anwesha is a low grade singer of a reality show who only copies the original.
I, along with other Anwesha fans take pride in the fact that MDs like Shankar Mahadevan thinks that Anwesha is the greatest find of the reality shows after Shreya's debut in 2002. He rates Anwesha as one of the very talented singers, so much, so that he comes to sing on the stage because he knows that only he can defeat Anwesha...
It's a great compliment and I don't think any low grade singer or a copycat singer would have that privilege.
I am really happy and content as long as Maestros like Shankar Mahadevan rate her as a child prodigy, singers like Shreya Ghoshal think that Maa saraswati resides in Anwesha's voice.

haha.....very true......anwesha rocks..........As Shankarji, Himesh, Pritam, Jatin said she is the next superstar......Shreya is one of my favorite singers too...but after reading this thread i m wondering if she sang her own songs during saregamapa and not copy paste😆
