Hey guys I wrote a new sg one shot…Romeo n Juliet…but guys before u all read it let me confess something…I have never read romeo n Juliet…but still I gave this os a try…so all literature lovers if u find some mistakes or historically incorrect things in the scene…pls forgive me…I have kept the language easy for the sake of simplicity.I hope all of u will like it. The os is in two parts.This is first part for now…if u all like it I will post the second part soon.Heres it guys….from me…………
Part-1
Its glittery evening at the excel…the entire college is shining in the most dazzling decorations done by the captain and the ultimate diva of the college…Dia Bhushan.Its excels first international cultural meet ever and the entire auditorium is filled with the loud echoing claps….mayank n nupur just set the stage on fire with a mesmerizing dance performance.The next act is of samrat n gunjan…the most famous of romantic scenes ever….and the biggest highlights of tonite's finale at excel….the moment everyone had been waiting for…..the famous balcony scene from romeo n Juliet………………..
Green room:
D(running over places panting badly):oh god ye Sammy aur gunjan aakhir hain kahan……..stage par bas unka naam announce hone hi wala hai……..agar ye done mujhe abhi nahin mile to kuch aur mile na mile but kal tak apni college captain ki post se termination letter surely mil jayega…….
Only then dia who is madly searching samrat and gunjan bumps into nupur…..
N:diaaaaaaa……achcha hua jo tum mujhe mil gayi….tumne samrat ko kahin dekha hai kya???
D:what????yehi to main tumse poochne wali thi nupur…..sammy aur gunjan kahin nahin hain…..
N:gunjan….woh to andar hai…bilkul ready…..par samrat kahan hai???????????
D:oh thank god…koi to mila….nupur tum jaldi se gunjan ko bahar le aao…….
N:par samrat??????
D:don't worry babes I think woh ata hi hoga….surprise entry Sammy ki purani aadat hai…….
N:by god ye samrat bhi na…dia mujhe sirf itna pata hai ki agar samrat abhi yahaan nahin aya na to gunjan behosh ho jayegi………….
D:kya!!!!!!!!!!but why???
N:by god dia tum bhi na….tumhein pata hai na gunjan ko stage se kitna dar lagta hai…talent parade mein bhi woh sirf isliye gaa payi thi kyunki samrat uske saath tha…warna to……….
While nupur n dia r still talking to each other….mayank n benji arrive.
M:nupur…..samrat ka mobile nahin lag raha….i don't know woh kahan hai…..aur stage par samrat aur gunjan ke naam ke announce ho gaye hain….
D:Oh god ab main kya karoon……gunjan pls jaldi se bahar aao………….
Listening to dia's words, gunjan who was still sitting inside terribly nervous walks out of the room thru the dim way…..
As gunjan steps out slowly…….everyone in the green room stood still………dressed in a beautiful white gown….with her slightly curled strands of hair falling into her beautiful eyes....eyes which are no longer behind the glasses……….gunjan looked angelic……..samrat would surely have fainted if he would have been here…..thought dia n the very image of the way samrat would have reacted seeing gunjan like this makes dia giggle by herself………………..
B:oh god…pls is Juliet ke lost romeo ko permanently lost kardo………mujhe banado iska new brand romeo……………….
Listening to benji dia slaps his shoulder tightly………..
B:ouch!!!teri to………..
D:benji apne bakwaas jokes marna band karo aur jaakar sammy ko dhoondho warna Romeo to kya benji kahlane ke layak bhi nahin rahego!!!!!!!!!!
Seeing dia's angry face both benji n uday run away to search samrat while gunjan was now almost trembling out of nervousness.
G:dia…di…..ye samrat kahaan hai….woh to kabhi aise time par late nahin hota…phir aaj…..
D(keeping her hand on gunjan's shoulder):relax gunjan….sammy pahunchta hi hoga…may be traffic mein phas gaya ho….aur pls ab apne is pretty se face par se ye tension ke wrinkles hata do….phir tum lagogi humari sabse pyari…sabse sunder………Juliet……n u know what babes achcha hi hai ki Sammy yahan nahin hai…kyunki agar woh tumhein aise dekhta to pakka use
hospital le jana padta……….
Listening to dia's words gunjan has a sweet shy smile on her lips…n her cheeks go cherry red…….
G:dia tum bhi na….
D:yes gunjan main bhi…ab tum itni beautiful lagogoi to Sammy to…………..
G:diaaaaaaaa pls bas….u know dia humara naam announce ho chukka hai…..aur samrat aise kabhi late nahin hota…mujhe bahut chinta ho rahi hai…………….
D:(touching her forehead) I cant believe gunjan tumhein sweating ho rahi hai….gunjan tum itna darogi to sare dialogues bhool jaogi!!!
Dia's words n gunjan's face grew paler….since the past half an hour she had been trying to reherse n recollect all her dialogues but they seemed to have washed away…gunjan cudn't recapitualate anything…that made her heart beat even more vigourously……………
Only then the final announcement for samrat and gunjan's act echoes in the auditorium….but still samrat is no where to be seen…no one knows where he is….gunjan's nervousness was reaching a new high now. She wud never go on the stage alone…………….while gunjan is completely lost and constantly looking towards the entrance while tapping her feat nervously….dia speaks up…..
D:gunjan….tumhein stage pe jana hoga………….
G:kya!!!!!!!!!!!!!dia tum ye…ye kya kah rahi ho….samrat ke bina main……main kya karoongi…dia ye koi solo play nahin hai………..!!!
D:pls gunjan thoda sa relax karo….i know ki yeh solo play nahin hai…but let the play start….aur waise bhi first dialogue tumhara hai……tum jab tak apne dialogue bolna shuru karogi….i am sure Sammy aa jayega…..pls gunjan…ye excel ki reputation ka sawaal hai…tum nahin jaanti ki national college ke kuch students humare is event ko flop karne mein lage hain….aur…aur woh sab auditorium mein hi hain…unhein sirf ek mauka chahiye excel ki reputation ko spoil karne ka…..
Hearing to dia's words gunjan who was still sweating out of nervousness….though reluctantly but agrees to go on stage.Dia nupur n mayank make gunjan stand behind the curtain of the artificial balcony's window that was actually a beautiful set created to simulate the actual romeo-juliet balcony scene…………..mayank gives a small microphone to gunjan so that they can communicate with her…..slowly the lights become dim n the curtain raises……………………………
Gunjan is still behind the curtain of the window………………..
G(to dia on microphone):dia….samrat……samrat pahuncha???
D:nahin gunjan…uska phone bhi nahin lag raha…kisi ko nahin pata ki woh kahan hai….but pls gunjan just relax…dekho curtain raise ho chuka hai….tum dheere se window se bahar jao….aur apne dialogues bolna shuru karo……….
Gunjan is shocked to hear this….her heartbeats became wilder….n her heart was now thudding harder against her chest….the tension abt samrat as well as the fact that she would have to go on stage alone….made her eyes almost teary…
But still gunjan knew she cant stake excels reputation due to her fears….so she gathers courage n slowly removes the curtain of the balcony's window……
As gunjan moves out of the curtain….the small amount of strength she gathered is lost in a fraction of a second…the entire auditorium is packed with audiences hooting her n samrat's name………… all eyes are stuck on gunjan…..now this is becoming nearly impossible for gunjan…..she panted badly……n one of her tear rolled down her cheek.
While all this takes place…dia nupur and mayank who were standing at the corner become more nervous…as the chaos in the auditorium was growing uncontrollable….ppl hooted samrat's name….while some goons were shouting badly…they laughed at gunjan and rebuked her for standing scared n crying on stage….dia notices that they are the same boys who had come to warn on the last day of rehersals that they will do something major on the day of the finale….dia instantly calls mayank by patting his shoulder n makes him see those boys…
D:mayank ye dekho…ye to wahi boys hain….tumhein yaad hai na….inhoine rehersal ke last day par kitna hungama kia tha….aur inke pockets….inke paas kuch hai mayank…..
M:Oh god dia…u r right….humein gunjan ko jaldi se andar jane ko kahana hoga….she is not safe….!!!!
Saying so mayank looks upto gunjan…who was still standing on the window…looking around the hooting audiences….her eyes were dripping down tears out of nervousness…..seeing her like this….mayank thru his actions asks gunjan to go inside……….
The audiences grew wilder…..seeing which an already scared gunjan….shivers badly….she collects the underlying fleets of her gown in her fist n turns to run inside………when comes a voice form behind……………
"wait princess……wait otherwise I shall die………………"
Gunjan's heart thudded in her chest but she breathed a sigh of relief at the same time……….she slowly turns around to see…d audiences gradually went calm and the entire auditorium is now wrapped in serenity….as gunjan raises her brows….her heart missed a beat…..it was samrat standing near the window with open arms…he looked mesmerizing in a long black waist coat with a white silk shirt beneath it…his hair were a lil drenched n as he took a soft hazy breath.….gunjan's body felt a wave inside her….her heart pumped as if it would fly out any moment….her hands felt cold…
Gunjan wanted to scold samrat for being so late…so worried she was for him…but the moment she saw samrat…she cudn't understand what was happening to her…he never looked like this…so eternal n so dreamy…his deep breaths…gunjan cud hear n feel them…when only she recollects what dia said to her abt the time when samrat will see her dressed like this…remembering dia's words gunjan blushes badly……n is lost int samrat's mesmerizing eyes………………….
only then a voice comes n breaks gunjan out of her dream……………..
"u look angelic princess…much beyond the reach of any goodness…lucky will be the man for whom thy heart shall beat for…"
Listening to samrat's words gunjan realizes that samrat looked a bit dizzy…n wait a moment…the dialogues he said were not in the script….ofcourse they weren't…coz the first dialogue was that of gunjan's…gunjan realizes that samrat was not speaking the original dialogues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What happened to him in the past three hours of the morning that he has forgotton his dialogues n why is he looking worn out??????????????????????
