Hello IFians! 🤗

Well, I see that some words are used and abused a lot to the point that they become really stale. When you hear those words you know instantly that the person really had no reaction at all and chose to go for the safest way out and say that word in response.

So which words do you think are overused and thus now, stale?

^^ Probably.... I know it's not exactly a word.... but whenever you criticise a person that someone else likes, nine times out ten they're going to react with, "You're just jealous." I truly cannot understand the logic behind this :S

So true, Chhilt, I don't get that logic either. It's either that or that "you don't have a good taste!" 😕 I mean seriously!

Even though I'm guilty of using this a lot as well, I think 'awesome' is one of the words that's used way too often and sometimes in place of the more well defining adjectives.

^^ I use that too :P In my opinion, "Awesome" is one word that can never get stale... that and "cool."

I guess you're right. "Awesome" and "Cool" may never be stale but they are wayyy over used.

They definitely are.... I don't know how many times I use those in a day :P And I have this weird habit of filling in awkward pauses with "You know" or "like." 😆

While chatting online, I think it's words like 'ok', 'great', etc. It usually indicates that the other person is busy chatting with someone else and can't be bothered to give a proper response. 😛
Though sometimes it might also mean that there ain't much expected in reply to begin with.
