Great topic, JKu!

Secondary education is very, very important and should be compulsory. That's when you actually get to develop some skills and learn about what's really important. Sometimes it's just general studies too (As you get to narrow your focus in college) but it's really helpful to be a productive member of the society.

I wouldn't say you can't be successful if you haven't had a secondary education but I know some people who have been. But I think it adds on to your chances of being successful. Here in the US at least, for the most part your education and earnings are directly proportional.

If you have more education, you usually get more opportunities and more career options.

Illiteracy does carry social stigma, but I think it's very important to be literate. How would you know if someone's tricking you into believing something if you can't read? To a large extent, your ability to reading and writing is very important to understand the reality of the world. Otherwise you'll be relying on others to tell you the truth.

The whole point is that education may seem tough and exams and projects everyday exhausting. But you can either work hard now and get a good career and ease off then or slack now and then work hard in the future. The choice is all yours.

first of al good post j!!

Why do you think post secondary education in important in today's culture? secondary education is very important as its a tym wen we get to know more about world in scientific means ..in smaller ,evn we get to know more people who have studied in various skool and e vn various states.and for secondary education most of us wil need to stay away from home ..and that might help us get rid of home sickness.
Can people who do not have post secondary education ever be successful in life?
maybe they may be successful in money means as money is al about luck but they can nvr be satisfied with themselves. money cant buy evrything.
Why is there a social stigma on being illiterate?
It's not a social stigma in most of the cases but in some places sending gal child to school is the common practise.being literate matters wedr it is boy or girl.
To what extent should parents pressurize their kids to gain post secondary education if at all?
Parents shouldnt be pressurising them to gain something ..they are grown ups ,the best way would be to talk with them abt it patiently ...and getting them know the importance of education .

Why do you think post secondary education in important in today's culture?
I think it is fairly important to be successful because in today's culture one needs to be very qualified for whatever job/position they need/want. It is very competitive and cut-throat out there!
Can people who do not have post secondary education ever be successful in life?
I believe they can with enough drive. I know in the USA, some jobs that don't necessarily require further education have pretty good pays... Ex: a carpenter or a truckdriver
Why is there a social stigma on being illiterate?
Illiteracy is to some extent is associated with ignorance and not being very intelligent. It is the standard view that if you are not educated, then you are somehow 'lesser' or 'lacking' in some way.
To what extent should parents pressurize their kids to gain post secondary education if at all?
It is beaten into kids from a very young age that to be successful and have a good life, you have to study hard and go to college!!! And i think that this should def. not be the case. Some people just don't have the drive for it. And pressure from parents is just going to lead to unhappiness and to some extent even failure!
