When Amu's earlier movie My Name is Anthony Gonsalves sank without a trace in the box office, the plucky girl, who is the younger sister of Indian pop star Suneeta Rao, just shrugged her shoulders, donned a new sexy look afor Shortkut... and though the movie did not do too well at the box office, Amu got rave reviews for her hot bod and now there's no looking back.

However, it was not an easy task for the sensuous actress to get those fad abs, a close friend of Amu said.

"To lose weight and don the sexy look, Amu had to go through rigourous workout. She also went on a complete health diet comprising of fruits and boiled vegetables. And, she stayed miles away from junk food," the source said.

"Amu is also into kick boxing and aerobics these days," the actress' friend added.

And, what does Amu has to say for herself and her new-found look? "Gracing the cover of India's largest selling men's magazine, Maxim, was a fantastic opportunity and it just goes to show that I am one of the most desirable actors on tinsel town," Amu said.

"Maxim represents the sensual woman - the woman within, who reveals her darkest, sauciest secrets. This cover was timely due to my current association with a renowned bridal reality show as well as Manish Malhotra's successful experimentation and execution of my style in the last movie that I did. I loved the cover a lot as it portrayed me as natural and sexy without baring everything out - I was the quintessential girl next door," the actress, who was spotted partying with Tushar Kapoor, Rahul Dev, Aryan Vaid and others in Hard Rock Cafe to celebrate the launch of Maxim's October issue, added.

Way to go Amu. But we do hope that you fare better in Bollywood than other Maxim covergirls like Minissha Lamba, Neetu Chandra, Sheryln Chopra and Jiah Khan.
