Om Sri Ganeshaya Namah
Maharshi Atri understands the truth behind Gritsamad's birth and refuses to answer his questions.
Atri - I refuse to answer this boy's questions. He is a blot in the name of a rishi's son. Foolish boy, the one whom you think of as your father is not your real father.
Gritsamad leaves that place in anger.
Narad meets Lord Vishnu.
Narad - Sri Hari, Gritsamad is very disturbed. He is going towards ahsram in anger. I am afraid that something untoward might happen.
Vishnu - Calm down, Devarshi Narad. Sri Ganesh has already arranged whatever is going to happen. So Gritsamad cannot be stopped.
Parvati - Open your eyes, swami. See what is going on.
Lord Shiv - What happened, devi Parvati?
Parvati - You are Master of the whole world. Do I need to tell you what is going on the Earth?
Shiv - Looks like you are worried over Gritsamad.
Parvati - Please protect him.
Shiv - Do not mistrust that boy so much. He is fully capable of protecting himself.
Parvati - But he is only a child.
Shiv - Now is the time for all the secrets to be revealed. Our son Ganesh was also waiting for this moment.
Parvati - Why is son Ganesh giving such a harsh punishment to his devotee?
Shiv - This is not a punishment but a form of deep askesis. Have patience. Lot more is yet to happen.
Gritsamad goes to his mother Mukunda.
Gritsamad - Where are you mother? Come here.
Mukunda - What happened son? Are you all right?
Gritsamad - Don't call me your son. Stop pretending affection. I want answers to my questions.
Vachaknavi - Calm down Gritsamad. You have no right to talk to your mother like this.
Gritsamad - She also has no right to be called my mother.
Vachaknavi - Don't you feel ashamed talking like this about your mother?
Gritsamad - Why should I feel any shame? I did not commit any sin. I want to know my father's name.
Ruma thinks - I was afraid this would happen. Sri Ganesh, please save gurumata.
Gritsamad - Tell me who is my father. Tell me whose name you have kept hidden.
Mukunda faints. She opens her eyes after some time.
Vachaknavi - Why don't you say something?
Gritsamad - How can she say anything? She has nothing to say.
Vachaknavi shouts - Gritsamad! Is this what we have taught you? Is this the way to behave with your mother?
Gritsamad - There could not be any other woman in this world, who cheated her husband and her son like this. I feel ashamed calling this woman as my mother.
Vachaknavi - Keep quiet. Somebody has misguided.
Gritsamad - You are misguided, father that you still consider me as your son.
Vachanavi - What is this I hear, devi?
Parvati - Ganesh, stop all this.
Ganesh - Mother, I have made the arrangement for natural justice.
Gritsamad - If what I say is correct, then answer my questions. Or else, say in front of Maharshi Atri that I am Maharshi Vachaknavi's son.
Mukunda - You are not the son of a Maharshi but of a king.
Gritsamad - You have committed a big sin, mother. You kept a great sage in darkness.
Vachaknavi - Your mother has accepted her mistake.
Gritsamad - But I cannot forgive this mistake. I, Maharshi Vachaknavi's son Gritsamad curse you that you become a tree outside this ashram so that the world always remembers that a gurumata once committed a sin.
Mukunda becomes a tree.
Vachaknavi - Ghritsamad, you had no right to curse your mother. Your mother had cheated me, not you. Only I had the right to pronounce a curse on her. You deserve punishment. I do not want to see you. I am leaving this ashram. You also have no right to live in this ashram.
Voice from sky - Wait Ghritsamad. Without knowing the truth, you cursed your mother. You are not the son of a king but of a god. Even Mukunda thought that you were king Rukmangad's son. But, in reality, you are the son of the king of gods Indra.
Vachaknavi - You have sinned, devraj Indra. I, Maharshi Vachaknavi, curse you that you will never have mental peace. Your throne will always be in danger.
