Yes! Dada maybe BIG in Kolkata but the magic of Mithun Chakraborty is potent enough to draw scores of people from across the country to Mumbai just to catch a glimpse of him at the Lux Dance India Dance auditions conducted by Zee TV.
One such case is that of Mintu Melbia, a dhobi from Indore who traveled all the way to Mumbai just to touch Mithun Da's feet on national television. Mintu Melbia came up on stage to announce that he's obsessed with Mithun Da enough to have over 350 pictures of the superstar in his collection.
Making matters even more interesting, Mintu got emotional and confessed, "Everybody used to laugh at me because I am so unimpressive. They said I'll never get a chance to meet my icon. And that I'll never get anywhere in life. In fact, some time back a girl rejected my marriage proposal saying I'm a nobody - that I am an ugly dhobi with no future. I told her - a day will come when you see me on television with my idol Mithun da and then you will regret having rejected me." Quite the realization of a long-held dream, eh Mintu? Amen!
