We pick small screen's not so small wonders who rocked in 2009.

Saloni Daini: A seven year-old with a missing tooth may raise a few laughs at home, but you don't expect her to become the national comedy expert. Funnily, Saloni Daini did exactly that with her Gangubai act on kids comedy show Chhote Miyan.

Ratan Rajput: At a time when daily soap heroine was all about designer bindis and saris, Ratan Rajput was an unlikely protagonist. Her rustic ways and sweet Bhojpuri accent on Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Na Kijo was a welcome change.

Anoushka Manchanda: From one reality show to another' after a gap of decade. But ex-Viva girl Anoushka Manchanda proved she's still got all the right moves when lifted the title in Khatron Ke Khiladi season II.

Kiran Bedi: She became the face of Indian television's first out-of-court forum for settlement of disputes ' Aapki Kacheri, and did a commendable job of it.

Elesh Parujanwala: A 'rich businessman' from Toronto who (momentarily) stole the heart of motor-mouth Rakhi Sawant, Elesh became a reality show star in his own right.

Rajeev Khandelwal: Once the most popular lover boy on late night Hindi television, Rajeev Khandelwal was just as loveable and affable when he returned to the small screen for Sach Ka Samna.

VJ Jose: He's nerdy and whacky, but Jose Mario Covaco hardly looks a physics major in his avatar as MTV VJ Jose. Perhaps its his lack of style that endeared him so much to the masses.

Prince Dance Troupe: From a remote village in Orissa, they literally danced their way into our hearts through India's Got Talent.

Vindu Singh: Thanks to his antics on Bigg Boss, Vindu Dara is finally coming out of his father Dara Singh's shadow.

Nauman Sait: He survived all the backbiting and backstabbing on Roadies, to emerge as the heartthrob of the nation.
