I should feel sorry for Khemi. I should. but I don't!
1. She set SanRaj on the path of divorce by being stubborn about marrying Hiten, only to make a u-turn at the last minute and marry someone else.
2. She married some complete stranger just because he saved her sorry-ass life!
3. She doesn't even have the decency to tell her ex about it beforehand. Instead she waltzes into 'their' surprise engagement party and gives him a most unwanted surprise of her own, and completely crushes the guy who went against his own family and a whole village for her.
4. She hides the truth of her past from her slightly strange husband, leaving outsiders and second parties to fill him in with half-truths and lies in order to manipulate the fool into doing their dirty work for them.
5. Once she learns of her husbands dislike of her friendship with her ex, instead of being open with him and understanding his reaction, she adds to his already growing animosity by constantly putting herself in the way of her ex.
6. Instead of trying to spend time with her husband and forming a relationship with him, she's too busy mending her ex's problems, worries and shirts!
7. Then when it all comes to a head between her ex and her husband, instead of reassuring him calmly that his fears are unfounded, she instigates him further by asking him to apologise to her ex, but doesn't tell her ex to do likewise.
And now that she has, by a twist of fate, found herself in the position of the bahu of the m-parivar and has had a taste of the high life, she has suddenly aquired a new-found love and devotion to her psychotic axe-wielding,maniac of a husband, to the extent that she has turned against her own sister.
That too, to curry favour with her sisters sister-in-law who has slapped her in the past and tried to burn her fiances face in hot oil and called her every name under the sun!
Whilst her hurt at Santu may be understandable to a point, her pandering to moti is not. How can she have forgotten what moti did to her and her sister? How can she accept motis behaviour now without so much as asking for an explanation for this reformation or atleast reminding moti about the past in some round about way?
How can she not wonder why moti is suddenly so affectionate towards her and still so spiteful towards her sister?
How does she think that she is the one who always had to suffer? Whatever position she finds herself in now is as a result of the stupid decisions she has taken as pointed out above. Whilst her sister had zero say in anything that has happened to her. She was thrown into the deep end and left to sink or swim. I know she doesn't know half of what Santu has had to endure, but what she does know should have been enough to ensure that she never loses faith in Santu.
So yes, as I said, perhaps I should feel sorry for her. But I don't. Not a jot.
