I just called Zeetv in India to get the phone number for Sunshine Productions. I spoke with some lady - probably a nobody there who will throw my comments in the trash can - and told her about our site. They would not give me the number or contact for Sunshine Productions.
The lady argued with me about the show and she kept telling me to watch the show (without giving away anything). I told her about what I thought of the Abhi Simi storyline, the up and down with their ages, Nukul's appearance, Simi's behavior towards Abhi, Abhi's dress sense (which moron is dressing him?), the abrupt change in Anita's personality etc. The only compliment I could give was Manju's acting - told them to make sure they let her know she's fabulous.
One of the problems is the woman on the other end had a hard time listening to me and spent of the time arguing with me about the storyline. I don't think she agreed with me. I couldn't finish my list of grievances but I hope she will visit this forum and read the posts.
I have emailed zeetv as well with my comments and their reponse has been "keep watching the show." I strongly suggest that you do the same if you want to see things change. Bee, your post here would be great example of what the creative team needs to read.
Unfortunately, I am not in the least bit optimistic about how this show is going to progress - it's turning into a run of the mill India drama - the bad saas, the nikuma son, the dopey girl in a triangle situation faling to stand up to her parents and willing to marry another guy for the upteenth time and relying on the guy (Abhi) to bail her out. The only stellar part of this whole storyline is the knocked up Neetu - that's the unique part of the whole show.
Heck, I'd love to see something original or different in this show but it's all gone (SOB). A good show that went the wrong way...

Laila,
I really can't believe you did that! Way to go girl!
I don't want to ruin your spirits, but I am not hopeful that your comments reach Sunshine productions through her.
And I can't believe she argued with you about the show! That makes me think she wasn't just a receptionist handling the incoming calls! I hope she doesn't make it just a discussion point for her lunch time chatting!

But you know though there were big pot holes from the creation perspective, I still like the show, it still is different from the rest of the shows that I watch.
Today when I was watching the US episode, I really liked Alka Amin's acting when she says to Anuj that, "Nakul's family had come with so many gifts and we should also give something" and he says, "yeah ok, you give what you want". Then she smiles and says, "Anuj, what happened, this time you didn't give me your salary?" I don't know how to describe her expressions in words, but she did a great job!

Later when Anuj comes to give her money for buying gifts, they have conversation about Abhi and when Simi is in the kitchen door to inform her mother about her going to temple, Manju is had to literally pull the folded notes(rupees) from his hand!

Yesterday again when RS is thrown out of the bank and comes home, it was really amazing to see Manju's reaction - She is so much worried about what happened to her husband! (She once says to Simi, though they (wife and husband) have lived so many years together and have so well accustomed to each other, but she can never think of living a life without her husband), That expression of Manju seeing RS disheveled portrayed that feeling of hers!

When I see such subtle things being captured, I think the creatives have potential to make this show stand above the rest. But I can't understand why they mess-up here n there.😲

Well done Laila! Im so happy you took the initiative.👏
Like bee5 said, there are moments/scenes in the serial that are captured really well and not over the top............and this is the first time I ve seen a cast that suits their roles to the T.

laila great job. But they have closed eyes and deaf ears. I am not complainig much. I like what I see. The only complain I have is they are not giving abhi his worth and anita needs to be changed back.
to an angel once shown and a sweet sister.
We have tried such with 2 stories RKAB and saat phere with hardly any results. They just do what they like. yes they do read or comments at times so it is best to keep writing and hoping we can get thru theri minds.
all the best.
I do like RS's character a strong yet weak loving father.
I like abhi a selfless man who always want to help others around him yet does not want to put up with wrong doers.
I like Simi a loving sister who can be soft and sesitive yet she can be like a roaring lioness in a split second if she is challenged.
i like mili who is not afraid to tell the truth.
Yes I like manju but not all times. Lately she has shown to more sesitive towards her daughters and she will come to relaized what kind of son she has raised.
I like the originality where all characters are dressed commonly and no tin heavy jewelry and it is shot in real location and not in some pompous sets.
I love this serial which me and my huby can agree to and watch together and discuss and enjoy without getting bored and look forward to it without dreading as it does not drag unlike others. It is a fast paced exciting constanlly keeping us on the edge kind of storyline.😊.

I did tell them how much we liked the Abhi and Simi storyline and how the moved so fast. I also tried to explain to them about Abhi's abrupt change in a character. Rather than listen, the woman on the other end would constantly cut me off. I didn't even get the chance to tell her we wanted more Abhi-Simi scenes.

Sadly, lost the obsessive compulsive urge to watch... ( posted as a new thread but moved here because apparently this thread discusses the same things... i dont agree... can i disagree?)

Am I alone in feeling that gone are the days when making time for KB online video updates, as soon as they were made available, and the ensuing verbal (ok type-written) diarrhoea was a priority... currently I'm at... okay so they're there , they can wait till after I'm done with all the jobs at hand... and I can foresee it getting to... I can live with being a week behind what s being aired in India ... in the very near future. Do the red downward arrows at the top of the page here suggest that I have company!

I'll try to catalogue here what I think has ruined it for me... the intention is not to spoil it for anyone else (I eagerly await your trying to convince me otherwise Dipa... not just because you are exceptionally accepting of all KB foibles but also because, like me, you simply like that sorta thing 😉)

The unsubstantiated anomalies in characterisation

I'm not going to again cite the sloppy almost negligent treatment of the Abhi-Simi dynamic and the concurrent botching-up of Abhi's character. Enough has been said on the subject, and I maintain it.

However the abrupt, completely inexplicable change in Anita's character is equally irksome ... among other things a life-long bond with a loving brother does not go to the dogs over one incident... she had us thinking she actually understood him, remember the conversation with Anuj at her rukhsati... All of a sudden he's enemy number one... over what again???

As is Anuj's change from a spineless fool to a treacherous serpent (an allusion to biblical references; I'm not trying to slander the poor reptiles) ... while I believe he lacks any strength of character (and yes Sethiji, like it or not you are to blame... I do hate that "humari hi parvarish mein kuch kami reh gayi hogee" oft-repeated excuse widely offered in the Indian media... well, duh!!) There was a hint of a conscience... as was reasonably clear from his conversation with Simi's vis a vis his guilt and gratitude on the night of her returned baraat.

Weakness of the plot

As to why Anita and Anuj need the money is beyond me... while the home-ware had to be returned I'm sure any cash would have been much appreciated and enjoyed, the presence of which need never have been disclosed to Mr Sethi. Why was it, again, that Anita said no to Mr Tarneja's Mauritius (or was it Singapore) offer?

I'm alsosceptical of the extent of Anuj's gullibility and willingness to steal from his own father... I have an aversion to this over-simplistic rendering of these characters as dark and iniquitous in one clumsy stroke ... in life it's almost invariably events rather than people that are indisputably awful. I'm saying the same events (Anuj leaving the Sethi household) could have been brought about without creating Indian-TV like villains. I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth and not just by Anita change in clothes and hair.

And The little things that are irritating me (and it's the little things that really count don't they)

The unnecessarily and overly melodramatic bank scene... The fact that Mr Sethi has been robbed of his life-times saving was a poignant and unfortunate event. It did not need the grand spectacle and over-the-top shoving and pushing to ram it home. The stepping on the glasses took the cake! Come now, which bank throws out a customer like that. Highly unlikely and stroppy!

The dropping of the halwa tray by Manjuji... just downright irritating... I have not once in my life done that... or seen anyone do it! Enlighten me if I'm missing out on one of life's great dramatic pleasures...but I find it is just another run-of-the-mill manoeuvre that insults my intelligence... and detracts from the tragedy of the scene! As did her semi-fainting from another scene ... did she faint...did she not?

In all the racket... (the Simi Anuj dynamic was truly well-handled... and the acting has been par excellence that has to be said!) why did no one ask for the money to be returned??? Milli perhaps? How can they let him walk away with it all??? I'm thinking it's a substantial amount... Retirement funds n all that!

As for Abhi! Welcome back dude... where've you been!! Long time ...no see!!

I would've liked something a little more substantial than "tum mujhey nahi jaantay"...when he uttered those words I was like yeah that'll make him run to the shop n open it personally!....as convincing as Neil's portrayal was ( the stares are back! And I loved his response to the Bhalla's provoking words! Not the bat of an eyelid... yet the freeze! RB, btw, I think is a master craftsman!! exceptional! And his dialogues were extremely well-written! I'm afraid I almost like him...hahaha ) I can't help thinking now what will this 22 yr old do? (yup ageist me!) He's a mere babe! Ah well, he does know a certain N.S. Dagur rather well... highly influential in regional politics and all that! (that was tongue in check... couldn't find a suitable smiley)

Is it just me or do men on this show shed a lot of tears? Don't get me wrong... I totally get the yummy-ness of man tears... the contrast of strength and sensitivity and all that... completely up my ally... but isn't that precisely because of the rarity of the event... KB has me running in the opposite direction!

And while we're on the subject... let's talk about Simi's bawling... I hate to sound insensitive, I can appreciate her pain ...maybe it's the English bit in me that finds her howling terribly unsightly ... watching her do that (and she's done it repeatedly hasn't she; make that funny sort of face and those infantile noises ) my reflex is to excuse myself and leave with a "Pardon my barging in ...I'll return when you're done"... much like I'd do if I find someone in the middle of an act when I open the door to the loo! I think it needs a separate room much like many other activities that are better done in isolation! Weeping can be an exceedingly feminine thing, no?... No wonder Abhi keeps telling her to stop...

Bottom line... it's all kinda yeah whatever now for me and I doubt it can climb all the way back up in my mind...

11AM my time is when the videos get published and i still make time for it, but tdy i must confess i hit the forward button a few times

i dont think mr. sethi is to blame for this, is manju to b blamed for neetu getting knocked up since she has a go at the girls every time sumthin goes wrong. the parvarsih dialog is just that, a dialog uttered by 99% parents. the child doesnt get good grades......... parvarsih mein kami, doesnt potty train on time........... again parvarish, turns out to b a weasel like anuj.......... parvarish. its nature and nurture.......... else 2 sibs brought up by the same parents under the same circumstances wud not turn out so different.

no offence intended but i have a problem with ppl behaving like complete a-h***s then going on oprah and blaming their parents.

i agree completely hence the liberal use of fwd button today

they dont?!

true

its much more realistic if they find a flat surface and keep the stoopid tray down coz thats what actually happens

In all the racket... (the Simi Anuj dynamic was truly well-handled... and the acting has been par excellence that has to be said!) why did no one ask for the money to be returned??? Milli perhaps? 😆 that kind of crying just irritates me. even when my kids start crying loudly im more likely to finish their crying in their room and come bak ( yeah i know im an insensitive jerk)

Bottom line... it's all kinda yeah whatever now for me and I doubt it can climb all the way back up in my mind...
