I don't think the story writers are worried about how the actors would feel.
If they can make Vicky-Neethu hug, they can make Abhi-Simi hug if they want to.
But yes, they do want to show the difference in both the characters (Simi n Neethu) by not making them hug by hugging, but by tripping!

I too am bored seeing the trip-n-hug and the looking in the eye thing!
I wonder won't the actors brust out laughing at what they are asked to do!😆

And the other hugs that you have pointed out RS-MS, Anuj-Anita, RS-SethiDaughters are all different.
Anuj-Anita are married, RS-MS and RS-SethiDaughters hugging look more like hugging-with-affection.
But if they have to show Abhi-Simi hug, then it has to be out of pure Love atleast for the time being and the writers might have thought it may not go well with the characterization of a sacrificing girl like Simi having so many problems currently! 😉 So, to satisfy viewers, they are using the trip-n-hug trick😉

But I am fed up of seeing the Simi trip and fall and Abhi holding her and he camera revolving around them !!!

Maybe not a hug kind but maybe she can leave her hair and suppose the hair falls on her ace he can put the hairlock behind her ear !! Give her a peck on her forehead !! Make her feel soft and special and caress her slowly !!
