I wrote this because someone *cough cough* told me to write it, and so ta-dah! I wrote it (shockingly enough) So anyways enjoy! 😛

Meera quickly lifted her book bag to her shoulder as she sprinted through the halls rushing to the library. She had just come from a meeting with two of her younger friends, both of whom were at odds with each other over the decorations at the Spring Fling which was the following week.

And now again she was late to meet one of her best friends Shifali, who was going to help her plan out the list of music for the Spring Fling. This was the reason she decided that she didn't want to be head of anymore planning committees.

She opened the glass door to the library and peered inside, welcoming the quietness from the room. She glanced around and saw a few empty tables by the windows overlooking the courtyard and walked to one of them, deciding to wait for Shifali.

Suddenly her phone chimed and she rushed to silence it before the librarian heard it. 'I'm helping with track tryouts right now, I'll be there asap'

Meera sighed before dropping her phone back in her purse. She had a little while before Shifali would get there so she decided it was the best time to get some studying time in.

She reached into her book bag and pulled out her notebooks and a textbook. She spread everything out on the table before hunching over and taking notes.

After a few minutes she got the feeling someone was watching her and so casually she looked up only to see someone standing by her table. He was dressed in jeans and a blue sweater with a smirk and a twinkle in his eyes.

"'scuse me?" Meera's eyes flashed to meet his. "Can I share your table?"

"Since when do you ask Prem?" Meera grinned as she moved to take some of her notebooks away.

"Since I've been standing here for about 6 minutes and you just noticed now." Prem grinned as he sat down across her.

"Crap, I'm sorry." Meera shook her head. "I've been such a scatterbrain lately."

"As opposed to when you're not?" Prem smirked. "Does that ever even happen?"

"Prem!" Meera groaned. "I'm going crazy about exams and you're making fun of me, not to mention you're sitting here all relaxed!"

She huffed and pushed away her notebook before crossing her arms. Prem sighed before leaning towards her. "If only you knew how nervous I am,"

"You don't look it," Meera glared.

"Certain things are felt not expressed,"

"Someone's being poetic today—as far as I know you're not taking English this semester."Meera grinned.

"Feelings come out randomly." Prem reached over and pulled her hand close to his. "Can I say something?"

"Course Prem," she frowned, not knowing what he was getting at.

"Well...what I'm about to say," He took a deep breath and looked down at the table.

"Prem? It's me. Why are you so nervous?"

"It's because it's you," He muttered. "Anyways, you know the dance is coming up?"

"The Spring Fling Prem," Meera smirked. "Say it right,"

He rolled his eyes and smiled. "Yes yes, it's coming up though right?"

"I should know since I am the head of it,"

"Does that mean you're still going?"

"Course, wouldn't miss it for the world," Meera smiled and shook her head. "That sounds clichd."

"It's you," Prem pointed out. "Not a huge surprise is it?"

"Shut up," Meera smirked. "Anyways go on, what about the dance?"

"I've got the music list!" Shifali waltzed in happily.

Prem turned to see Shifali walk towards their table and muttered silently to himself.

"Check it over and lemme know what you think okay?" She handed the paper to Meera and turned around.

"Where are you going?" Meera called after her.

"I have to get back down to the gym to finish cleaning up...I'll meet you at the car in an hour?"

Meera glanced at her watch and nodded. "Works for me,"

The two of them watched Shifali leave the library and Meera glanced down at the paper. "She hasn't even included half my fav slow songs,"

Prem smiled. "You have someone to slow dance with?"

Meera sighed. "Kaash,"

Prem frowned. "Anyone in particular you want to go with?"

"Why are you going to 'hook me up' with someone?" Meera grinned.

"None of my friends are good enough for you," Prem shrugged.

"You're acting like I'm a princess,"

"Aren't you?" Prem winked.

"Prem," Meera warned him.

"Yeah I'll stop." He smiled. "But no...I was just wondering."

"There's someone—but he's not that bright, so I doubt he'll ask me." Meera sighed. "But still, its next week and I doubt he'll smarten up."

"Oh..." Prem's face fell and he pulled out his cell phone and started texting someone.

Meera frowned at his sudden mood change but shrugged and went back to her notes.

"Where did I leave my sweatshirt?" Shifali muttered to herself as she walked through the locker room. She rubbed her hands up and down her arms, trying to warm herself from freezing in her black tank top.

A sudden clang was heard and she spun around, her eyes wide with shock.

The sound was caused by a guy standing near the door in a black sweat suit was someone who was at least 6 feet tall. Shifali tried peering closer at him and saw his dark brown eyes twinkle in the dimly lit room.

She took a step backwards and was startled when he stepped closer. "Sameer?" Her voice was barely audible to herself but apparently he heard it because he smiled at her.

"Hey," He stepped closer and Shifali backed up into the locker and closed her eyes at the impact.

Her heartbeat thumped louder in her ears and she felt goose bumps over her arms.

"Wha—what are you doing here?" She asked softly.

"I've never seen you like this," He smiled. "And I should be asking you that question. This is the boys' locker room,"

"Before? Sameer you see me in class every single day." Shifali rolled her eyes and realized he was indeed right and she was in the boy's locker room.

He smirked and put both his hands on either side of her head. "You look so nervous...why?"

"I'm not nervous," she shrugged. "Your eyes are deceiving you. You see me every day."

He shook his head. "That's different Shifali. In class you're happy, loud, and sarcastic, just all those adjectives but here, here you're different...you...seem more calm, and subdued, more approachable...more...bea..."

For a few moments Shifali's heart stopped and she felt that everything he was saying was real till she remembered that he was the resident heartthrob of the college and all this was easy for him.

"Stop flirting Sameer," Shifali sighed.

"Why—most girls would love it." Sameer smirked.

"I'm not most girls." Shifali shrugged. "You should know that by now."

"Believe me, you emphasize it more than enough," He backed away and rolled his eyes.

"What's that supposed to mean?" She glared at him.

"Nothing." He shrugged before taking a swig from his water bottle.

Shifali groaned. "This is why I can't talk to you or any guy calmly or rationally, you all just get all cryptic."

"Cryptic?" Sameer scoffed. "Right, good excuse,"

"Excuse?" Shifali put her hand on her hips. "You really need to fix something up here." She lightly hit his head and turned to walk away when Sameer caught her hand.

"Know what I think?"

"I don't care what you think." She shook her head.

"I think you need to fix something here," he put his other hand over his own heart.

Shifali rolled her eyes and walked out of the locker room.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"What does he think of himself?" Shifali mumbled as she made her way to Meera's car.

Meera, who was already waiting in the car, stared peculiarly at the other girl and shook her head, deciding not to ask. But as always curiosity got the best of her, "What's wrong?" Shifali turned to glare at Meera who shrugged and turned the key in the ignition. "Sorry I asked."

"I don't wanna talk about it," Shifali crossed her arms.

"Do you ever?" Meera muttered under her breath.

Shifali glared at her again and sighed. "It was Sameer."

Meera's eyes sparkled. "What'd he do?"

"Please do not tell me that like every other girl in that school, you're in love with him too?"

Meera frowned. "No, I was asking for you."

Shifali smiled weakly. "Oh, sorry. Well he—cornered me in the locker room..."

"Wait! Why was he in the girls' locker room?"

"Yeah...I was in the guy's locker room," Shifali told her sheepishly.

"WHAT?" Meera nearly slammed the brakes as she approached a red light and glared at Shifali. "What the hell were you doing in there?"

Shifali smiled. "I was looking for my sweatshirt."

"Right, use that excuse with the teachers." Meera rolled her eyes.

"It's not an excuse," Shifali glared. "But yeah I was looking for it and he came and...."

"You trailed off," Meera grinned. "What happened then Shifu?"

"I..." Meera stopped the car outside Shifali's house and Shifali smiled, thankful for the end to the conversation. "Thanks for the ride!"

Before Meera could protest she opened the door and rushed out of the car, up her front steps and into the safety of her own home.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Meera groaned as she saw her cell phone vibrating on the passenger seat. She pulled over to the side and checked her phone, sighing as she saw the name.

"Yes Prem?" She smiled at her reflection.

"Willyoutodancewitme?"

"What?" Meera burst out laughing.

Prem sighed on the other end. "I can't say it again,"

"Slower please Prem?" she asked softly.

"Will you go to the dance with me?" Prem sighed. "I know.....I know you are waiting for someone else to ask you, but I just think...maybe we could go together and have fun?"

Meera shook her head and smiled to herself. "You're an idiot."

"Oh...you won't want to go with me...I...I'm sorry Meera, I shouldn't have... forget it." Prem spoke quickly.

"I'm going to hit you, stop saying sorry and let me finish. You're an idiot, because you took so long in asking me!" She groaned. "I've been waiting, and why the hell do you think I mention the stupid dance every time we meet?"

"You wanted me to ask you..." Prem said softly.

"Of course!" Meera exclaimed. "I'm just glad you finally got it."

"You're happy...." He trailed off near the end like a question.

"Extremely..." Meera sighed.

"You're sure?"

"You ask me one more time and I will say no," she threatened.

"Alright alright," Prem smiled to himself. "I won't ask, but can I say one thing?"

"Depending on what it is..."

"I can't wait for Saturday," He said softly.

She smiled to herself and didn't notice her cheeks growing warm. "Me neither,"

They both hung up after and she quickly dialled Shifali's number.

Shifali glanced up at her phone from her studying and saw Meera's name flash. She held the phone up in her hand and then put it down again. She was not ready to go over the details of the 'locker room pinup' as she called it.

The phone chimed this time and vibrated once, indicating a message. She picked up the phone and scrolled through her messages. 'I need to talk to you like NOW!'

Shifali sighed before calling her.

"Hello?" Meera answered, sounding far too exhilarated.

"What's wrong?" Shifali asked immediately.

"Wrong? Why should anything be wrong?" Meera grinned. "This world is such a happy place!"

"What are you on?" Shifali frowned as she held the phone away from her ear.

"I'm not on anything," Meera said slowly. "Why would you say such a horrible thing?"

"Stop being so melodramatic," Shifali glared at her reflection in the mirror. "And tell me what's up,"

"I got asked to the dance!" Meera exclaimed happily.

"Weren't you going anyways?" Shifali frowned.

"Ugh Shifali!" Meera sighed. "I mean—someone asked me to go with them,"

"'Them' huh?" Shifali teased. "More than one!"

"Shifali,"

"Hmm?"

"Shut up!" Meera groaned. "I mean...Prem asked me to go with him."

"Prem?" Shifali grinned. "That's awesome,"

"I know," Meera agreed. "What's up Shifz? You sound kinda..."

"I'm fine Meera," Shifali said quickly. "I'll see you tomorrow okay? Bye."

Meera hit the red key on her phone and sighed. Shifali would probably blurt everything out tomorrow.

The sound a doorbell rang in Shifali's ears and she cringed at the sound. "Sone do..." she rolled the other way and her eyes popped open when she saw Meera walk through the door.

"Boo." Meera sat on Shifali's chair with an expressionless stare and Shifali frowned.

"Why are you here so early?" she yawned.

"Because of you, I couldn't sleep all night," Meera glared. "And now until I find out what the hell happened yesterday, neither of us are going to school."

Shifali yawned louder and sat up in her bed. "Why are you so mean?"

"I'm mean?" Meera scoffed. "Right anyways—out with it,"

Shifali sighed. "Hepinnedmeupagainstthelockerwall,"

"What?" Meera's eyes went wide. "What is it with people talking to me like that lately?" she shook her head. "More than one word please?"

Shifali groaned. "He pinned me against the lockers in the locker room."

"Ooooooohhhhh!" Meera jumped up and clapped. "Then??"

Shifali's eyes flashed up to see Meera itching for more details and shook her head. "Once a diehard romantic, always a diehard romantic."

"So?" Meera frowned. "What else??"

"We fought—kinda." Shifali sighed.

Meera sighed. "Oh well we'll fix it at the dance!"

"What?" Shifali glared at her.

"You're coming obviously, and since Sameer and Prem are so close, you'll have to be together for a little whole at least... and then..." she sighed dreamily.

"Stop your overactive dream world," Shifali snapped her fingers. "Not happening."

"You...you won't come for me?" Meera pouted.

Shifali groaned to herself. Meera knew quite well that whenever she pouted Shifali was pulled into anything.

"Fine," She reluctantly agreed.

"YES!!!" Meera hugged her quickly. "You're not going to regret this one bit!"

"You're right...I'm not. YOU are, having a third wheel on your date with Prem...such a pity," Shifali smirked.

Meera glared right back at her. "Whatever, go get ready—we're going dress shopping!"

"Meera? School..." Shifali pointed out.

"Do you have tests?" Meera asked impatiently.

"No...but..."

"But what?" Meera asked. "We're both free! Skip for once in your life!"

"Shut up!" Shifali whispered. "If my mom hears forget skipping, no dance on Saturday either!"

"Right," Meera winced. "Get ready and let's go!"

Shifali nodded before ushering Meera out of her room.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"Why are we doing this?" Shifali sat on a bench in the large shoe store while Meera tried on different pairs of heels.

"Because Prem's like tall, and I wanna look good," Meera muttered as she tested out different angles in the mirror.

"You're fine Meera," Shifali groaned. "Can we get dresses and then at least go in for 4th period?"

"What is your rush?" Meera frowned, finally turning to face her. "It's not a big deal."

"It is to me," She groaned and turned to look out the window when Meera called out again.

"How are these?"

Shifali glanced down at the thin stiletto heels Meera was wearing and smirked. "Can you walk in those?"

"Perfectly," Meera smirked back and walked from one end of the store back. "See," A triumphant smile on her face.

Something caught her eye after and she ran to the front of the store.

"Meera! You didn't pay for the shoes yet!" Shifali yelled after her, gathering up their purses and coats. She saw Meera leap into someone's open arms and her eyes opened wide with shock.

As the two parted she saw Prem's smile facing her and shook her head. "Well hello there," she smiled at the now bright red Meera. "Mr. Juneja, the last person I would think that would be skipping."

Prem smiled wider. "I've got a spare,"

Meera smiled and moved away from Prem. "I....my shoes..." She walked back into the store, leaving the other two outside.

"So how'd she convince you?" Prem asked Shifali.

"The pout," Shifali groaned.

Prem nodded knowingly. "H—has she picked a dress yet?"

"No," Shifali grinned. "Is that why you're here?"

Prem shook his head quickly. "I want to know what color your dresses are so I can make sure the settings look nice and don't clash."

"The settings?" Shifali burst out laughing. "God Prem it sounds like you're doing a surprise party or something."

"Which it's not," Prem pointed out. "Will you just text me once it's all done and the dresses are bought?"

"Yes Prem will do,"

The both of them noticed Meera walking towards them but what Shifali didn't notice was Prem giving Meera the thumbs up and a wink.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"What about this one?" Shifali stepped out of the dressing room and twirled around in her light pink dress. The skirt was puffy at the bottom but the top part was in a tube style with beading.

Meera smiled. "I've told you before and I'm telling you again...pink is your color!"

Shifali rolled her eyes. "You're such a sap."

"I am not," Meera glared. "But yeah I love this dress on you!"

Shifali shrugged and looked down at the skirt. "Isn't it too puffy?"

Meera shook her head. "Makes you look like a princess."

"I feel like one," She grinned.

"Yayy!" Meera clapped.

"Are you going to go try one on now?" Shifali gestured to the dressing rooms.

Meera nodded. "I hate trying on clothes,"

"Go in now!" Shifali glared.

"Right," Meera gathered some dresses and pulled the curtain closed behind her.

She stepped out minutes later in a muted lavender shaded dress that was straight cut with light embroidery on the top.

"What'd you think?"

"It's you," Shifali nodded.

"It's me?" Meera smiled. "What exactly is 'me'?"

"The simple ness in this dress," Shifali nodded. "Buy it."

Meera looked down at the dress and sighed. "You think?"

"Most definitely," Shifali smiled.

Meera smiled back. "Okay,"

The minute Meera disappeared into the dressing room, Shifali whipped out her cell phone and texted Prem the color of Meera's dress but little did Shifali know that her's wasn't the only important text Prem received at the moment.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"Come on Shifali!" Meera called up the stairs a week later. "Get your butt down here! The limo's here,"

"We're taking a limo?" Shifali's nervous face appeared at the top of the stairs. "I don't want to intrude with you and Prem."

Meera rolled her eyes. "The limo is big enough, let's go."

Shifali sighed before stepping down the stairs. "Wait a second—shouldn't Prem come in and shouldn't you two the whole corsage and pictures and all?"

Meera sighed. "It's okay Shifali. He probably doesn't remember it. I don't mind."

"Cept you do..." Shifali reached the floor and hugged Meera tightly. "If it's any consolation, you look gorgeous,"

Meera smiled slowly. "Thanks, but not half as good as you,"

Shifali rolled her eyes. "Not that I'm trying to impress anyone tonight."

Meera shrugged. "Never know who you might impress tonight,"

"Right—stop with your perfect world. Let's go,"

Both the girls exited the house and made their way down to the black limo.

Suddenly the door opened towards them and a hand reached out. "Come on in,"

Shifali frowned at the familiar voice and turned to face Meera who shrugged. She gently placed her hand in the open palm and felt his warm fingers close around hers. A gentle tug and she was welcomed by the bright lights of the limo. Her eyes took a few moments to adjust and her surprise was evident when she saw Prem sitting near the front of the limo but the one holding her hand was someone she would've never expected.

"Sameer?" Her hand slipped from his and she almost fell out of the limo till he caught onto both her hands.

"Watch it," He warned as he pulled her safely into the limo.

She rolled her eyes and brushed his hands away from hers.

Meera climbed into the limo herself and slid over to where Prem was sitting for her.

"What are you doing here?" she asked in a hushed tone not to distract Prem or Meera.

"I got invited by my best friend here," Sameer nodded over to Prem.

Shifali glared hard at the two sitting in front of them. "I hate him."

"But you really don't." Sameer smiled.

"I should. Both of them manipulated me to come," Shifali muttered to herself.

"For your own sake," Sameer pointed out. "So you don't spend the entire night holed up in pajama's curled up with a book or TV."

"How do you know that's what I'd do?" she peered at him.

He shrugged. "Magic."

"Yeah right," she rolled her eyes. "I wish I didn't have to be stuck here with you."

"Feeling's mutual darling," He nudged her shoulder.

Shifali shifted away from Sameer and held onto the door while Sameer laughed. "What? Didn't take a shower today?"

Shifali gasped before glaring and easing back into her seat.

"I knew you couldn't bare to be away from me," he whispered lightly while she cringed.

"I don't know where you get your thoughts from." Shifali shrugged.

"Not quite hard," Sameer grinned. "Wanna know?"

Shifali winced. "No, please how about no?"

"Are you sure?" He teased.

"Positive," she sighed as the limo came to a stop.

"Are we here?" Meera glanced up.

"No duh Meer!" Shifali rolled her eyes. "When a car stops, it USUALLY means you've reached your destination."

Meera opened her mouth to retort but then shook her head and Shifali frowned.

"Good going," Sameer muttered as they stepped out of the limo.

"What?"

"You upset her."

"I did not."

Sameer nodded at Meera who was holding hands with Prem, but keeping her eyes low cast.

"Fine, maybe I did." Shifali pouted. "Whatever she's my friend, we'll figure it out." She frowned seeing Meera walk towards the door. Did I really upset her? Na, Meera isn't that weak. Shifali shook her head before walking towards the gymnasium with Sameer following closely behind.

Suddenly she arched back feeling him step on her dress. "You stupid idiot!" she turned around and made him stand and that's when her eyes looked up and saw the color of his tie in the bright light. "You're wearing a PINK tie?" She burst out laughing and Sameer sighed before shaking his head.

"I'm sorry, I like matching with my date."

Shifali grinned. "Who exactly is that poor unfortunate soul?"

"I'm looking at her," He crossed his arms.

Her eyes went wide. "No."

He smirked. "Yes."

"No," she whispered.

Sameer shook his head. "It's not that hard to believe, is it?"

Shifali frowned as he walked past her into the main hall. "Meera set me up," she muttered.

"I did what?" Meera came to take her into the hall.

"You...you and Prem....set me up." Shifali frowned.

Meera sighed. "He told you? That was so NOT part of the plan."

"Why would you do it in the first place?" Shifali groaned. "I don't like him Meera!"

"Or you do, but you're just trying to elude it." Meera nodded.

"Not amusing." Shifali glared.

"Oh whatever Shifs, it's our dance; we've gotta enjoy it!" Meera grabbed Shifali's hand and pulled her inside. "You don't have to spend time with him okay? Spend it with me."

"You'll be with Prem," Shifali sighed.

"No, I'll be with you." Meera grinned. "Now let's go!"

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Even though Meera had promised graciously that she'd spend the night with Shifali, when Prem had come with a puppy dog face she had melted and Shifali had let her go. Now she watched the two of them slow dance with each other and her heart felt heavy but she didn't know why.

"They look perfect na?" A voice came down next to her and said.

Shifali silently nodded before turning to face her intruder. "Tum?"

"Haan," He nodded. "Can I ask you something?"

Shifali shrugged. "Whatever."

"Why do you hate me?"

"I don't hate you." Shifali said automatically.

"Then?"

"Then what?"

"If you don't hate me, but you definitely don't like me, what do you feel?" Sameer sighed.

Shifali grew silent for a few minutes until she finally shrugged. "I don't know."

"You don't know?"

"No." She glanced up and their eyes locked.

"Why not?" He whispered.

"I just...don't hate you, but I can't bring myself to....figure out what it really is."

"What if it's the same thing I feel?"'

"Which is?" Shifali frowned.

"I like you."

They both sat silently waiting for the other one to talk until finally Shifali broke the silence. "Woot woot!" Shifali rolled her eyes.

"I'm serious." Sameer frowned, offendedly.

"Oh."

"Well yeah. What you think I say this to everyone?"

"Don't you?" Shifali glared.

"No Shifali, I don't." Sameer sighed. "I wish I could explain it, but I can't."

"Why me?"

"What?" He frowned.

"Why. Me?" Shifali asked.

"Do you think Meera asked Prem that?" He glared.

Shifali shrugged. "Simple question, which needs a simple answer."

"Fine. Why you? Because you're you. Because you've got this cuteness, and you're not afraid to say what you feel or think, and you're not superficial like the rest of the girls, but the main reason?"

She nodded.

"Because you're beautiful." He sighed. Shifali took a deep breath and Sameer sighed. "I'll go."

"Shut up," she said quietly holding on to his hand.

"What?"

"Sit,"

"Why?'

"Just.....sit." Shifali sighed.

Sameer quietly sat back down and waited for her to say something.

"I....I promised myself." Shifali started. "Not to...not to like you because you were the jock of the school, most popular types....but you...you just got under my skin in such a way!" she frowned.

"In such a way?" He prodded.

Shifali sighed. "In such a way—that I couldn't help...but...."

"But?" He smiled.

"But I still like you too," She smiled back. "Why are you smiling like an idiot?"

He grinned. "Because you admitted it."

She shrugged. "I don't know Sameer, I mean—you think it'll work?"

"Us?"

She nodded as he took her hand.

"Course it will. We have that fighting pattern down. We fight, I'm right. End of story."

She glared at him. "Yeah in your dreams,"

They both turned towards the dance floor when the song changed and their eyes fell on Prem and Meera who both look too dazed with each other to notice anything else. As if knowing what the other was thinking they both look back at each other and Shifali notices how Sameer had intertwined their hands together.

"Shifali, get up,"

Shifali frowned before standing. "Why?"

Sameer got off the chair and kneeled down to the ground. "Will you dance with me?"

Shifali burst out laughing before nodding. "Yeah,"

"What was with the laughing?" He asked quietly.

"You looked like you were gonna propose," she giggled before putting her arms around his neck.

"I may be 'fast' but I ain't that fast," He grinned.

"Good." Shifali shivered feeling his hands enclose around her waist.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"Look," Meera nodded towards another couple on the dance floor.

Prem turned to see both Shifali and Sameer close dancing together. He grinned down at Meera who leaned her head lightly on his shoulder. "I knew it'd work out in the end."

"You're insane,"

"I know," She smiled back as he leaned down to kiss her forehead lightly.

The. End.

Aankhon Se Tumne

Her fingers traced the pattern of the rain falling down the window.

Her eyes fluttered towards the bright moon, in stark contrast with the dark night. There was a sense of familiarity to it and that familiarity eased her anxiety.

It had been four long months since the last time they had met. Their final goodbyes were still etched in her memory.

She shook her head, not wanting to cloud the anticipation of tonight with the bad memories.

A sound was heard from the door and her hand went flat against the window and her eyes shut.

He was here. They were finally together after months of separation.

She heard the soft sounds of his steps coming towards her and her heart raced in tandem.

"Hi,"

She turned and leapt onto him feeling him stumble back. "Kaise ho? Pata hain maine kitna miss kiye tumhe?"

A light laughter came from him and he agreed. "Probably as much as I missed you."

A clap of lightening sounded and her grip around him tightened.

"This is why I love the rain," he whispered lightly in her ears.

"Shush." She giggled lightly still clinging to him.

Aankhon Se Tune, Yeh Kya Keh Diya
Dil Ye Deewana, Dhadakne Laga

She eased away from him, afraid of getting 'too close' when his hand wound around her waist pulling her closer.

"Stay,"

With one word she was pulled back into his arms. Slowly she looked up into his eyes and saw his innocence reflect back at her.

A smile came onto her lips and she felt his grip lock at her waist.

Tanhai Mein Hum, Mile Iss Tarah
Baarish Mein Shola, Bhadhakne Laga

"What if you try something?" She asked with her eyebrow raised.

"Try something?" He gave her a smirk. "And me? No way."

"Course not, you're the ideal guy right? No touching." She looked meaningfully down at his hands around her waist.

His gaze followed and he pulled his hands away. "Right, sorry."

"Waise—main kisi ko bataongi nahin," she shrugged.

"Really?" He sighed. "Lekin kya karu? Mera mood nahin hain," He turned around and started walking towards the door.

"Prem!" she called out as she ran up to him. She hugged him tightly from behind unaware of the smile he was hiding.

"Kya hain?" He asked in an annoyed voice.

She let go and turned around to face him. "Naraz ho?"

"Nahin to Heer, main aur naraz?" He rolled his eyes.

She pouted watching him shrugs before walking away to the hallway.

She sighed and walked to the balcony connected to her room.

The rain was coming down harder now and it was just the way she loved it. She slowly opened the door and walked out to the rain.

The light drops of rain hit her face and she smiled instantly. If there was one thing that could make her feel whole again it was the rain. Through her happiness it was there accompanying her, even in her sadness, it was there as a companion; someone that understood her feelings.

Even now as she stood getting drenched she knew this was the rain that was acknowledging Heer's every feeling. Happiness that Prem was back accented with the sadness of his staying away from her.

Suddenly two hands pressed down on her shoulders and she whirled around only to see Prem standing there with her. The rain poured down on them both and she smiled softly.

Tu Tadap Ne Laga, Main Machal Ne Lagi
Boond Tan Pe Giri, Jaan Machal Ne Lagi
Chha Raha Hai Ajab Sa Nasha

The rain was one thing that connected them. The way it was always there through their moments together. The first time they kissed had been under an umbrella, the time he proposed to her was on the rooftop of this very building under the rain. The night he had left her four months ago there was rain and now—their reunion included the rain.

"I love you," a soft whisper came at her ear and she trembled, pushing herself away from him.

Thodi Sardi Bhi Hai

A smirk came onto Prem's face as he walked over to her and slowly pushed her hair from her neck to her shoulder, placing a light kiss on her neck.

Thodi Garmi Bhi Hai

Heer's eyes closed and she spun around to wrap her arms around his neck, unable to bear the distance between them.

Thodi Hai Bebasi

Prem smiled into her hair and slowly pulled her away from him to look into her downcast eyes.

Thodi Marzi Bhi Hai

She shook her head at him and smiled. His hand touched her shoulder and she nudged it away before walking back into her room.

Aise Mein Hum Bhala
Kya Karen Tu Bata

Prem followed her inside and leaned against the wall. "We're engaged."

"So?" she challenged, disappearing from the doorway.

Prem smiled at the sight of her shying away and pursued after her down the steps.

Jo Bhi Hota Hai Woh, Hone De Dilruba

He found her sitting on the bench outside the house and smiled seeing her sigh dreamily at the way the rain continuously fell.

He slowly sat down next to her and smiled.

She smiled back and slowly shifted closer so that the warmth from his body came to her as well.

Paas Aao Jo Main
Dil Yeh Darta Hai Kyun

She gently laid her head on his shoulder. "Prem, tum wapas kabhi mujhe chor ke nahin jaoge na?"

He shook his head and kissed her forehead. "I never wanted to go."

"Still did," She sighed.

Door Jayega Tu
Aisa Lagta Hai Kyun

"Heer," He slowly slipped his finger under her chin and made her look up at him. "I love you. Aur mujhe tumhe chor ke abhi nahin jaana tha,"

She sighed. "Pata hain phir bhi....darr lagta hain,"

He shook his head. "I promise. I won't ever leave."

Her smile grew wider and she hugged him tightly. "Thank you,"

Maine Waada Kiya, Maine Li Hai Kasam
Umre Bhar Na Kabhie, Pyar Hoga Yeh Kam

"Will you dance with me?" He asked suddenly.

"What?" she smiled confused at what he wanted.

"Will you." He pointed to her. "Dance with me?" he pointed back to himself.

She giggled. "I got that part Prem. I just don't think it's normal." She glanced down at her watch. "It's 1:30am."

"So?" He smiled.

She shook her head. "You're insane,"

"And you love it," He took her hand and led her out onto the wet grass.

Aankhon Se Tune, Yeh Kya Keh Diya
Dil Ye Deewana, Dhadakne Laga

Heer squealed feeling the wet grass between her toes. "This is soo....not me!"

"It's not me either," He smiled as he ran his free hand through his hair. "But it's on your list."

"My list?" she frowned as he pulled her closer.

"100 things you want to do before—before you die," he whispered the last part.

Heer smiled as she placed her left hand on his shoulder. "Who told you?"

"Meher—who else?" He smiled as she leaned her head on his chest.

Tanhai Mein Hum, Mile Iss Tarah
Baarish Mein Shola, Bhadhakne Laga

Heer smiled before he twirled her out of his arms and pulled her close to him again with her back to his chest. The two of them swayed along to the silent music caused by the thundering rain.

Tu Tadap Ne Laga, Main Machal Ne Lagi
Boond Tan Pe Giri, Jaan Machal Ne Lagi
Chha Raha Hai Ajab Sa Nasha

"Marry me," He sighed softly.

"What?" She looked p from her comfortable position.

"Marry me right now." Prem smiled.

"Tum pagal hogaye ho," she shook her head.

"Maybe,"

Aankhon Se Tune, Yeh Kya Keh Diya
Dil Ye Deewana, Dhadakne Laga

"There's no maybe about it Prem," Heer grinned. "We're already engaged and our wedding's in two months. Surely you can wait,"

"I can't."

"Well that's just too bad." Heer leaned up and pecked his cheek. "Remember,"

"What?" He closed his eyes, feeling her breath on his cheek.

She grinned to herself before running back towards the house. "The longer the wait the more worthwhile!"

Tanhai Mein Hum, Mile Iss Tarah
Baarish Mein Shola, Bhadhakne Laga

As he watched her shut the door from inside and peek out through the curtains he knew she was right. Intezaar ka phal hamesha meetha hi hota hain.

Hope you all enjoy it! 😳
