LOL .. the above posts were awesome!

I don't think the age is a big issue here. We can easily converse with people younger than us. 22-29 .. or whatever. Wouldn't like if Abhi gets all insecure about Simi. Neah.. this is a new found love.. they should concentrate more on the love factor initially rather than jealousy, insecurity, family issues cropping up on them. Not atleast for a few episodes! .. They'll have a lifetime of issues ahead.. why not enjoy the intial moments which they'll cherish later 😊.. ah .. well. I am getting too involved.. it's just a serial! 😃

there are other ways to show diffrences in age, that appear more real & authentic, since they have settled for 8 years diffrence, which is almost a decade.
so the diffrences could be shown as:
simbhi having diffrent music taste

abhi is more modern,so he might have female friends, but simi being set in her ways see the friendship in difdfrent light & that could be the point of argument

the couple can clash due to the diffrence in there upbringing & thinking,

plus abhi is far more independent than simi & more world wise whilst on the other hand simi is dependent on her family & not that avers to the outside world , so might get to clingy with abhi & in return he might find that suffocating, due to him being use to his own space

this is just my point of view i don't what you guys will make of this, but i just believe that instead of trying so hard to show the age diffrence, by making him act like a child

it will be far better to show the diffrence in thinking, tastes, point of view & interests, which for us viewers will be more enjoyable, than what's happening right now

Well said; I was thinking the same thing. I wanted to see more of Abhi and Simi going out and Simi (who is very shy and reserved) going with him to hang with his friends and realizing she feels very odd and out of place.
Also, I think it would be interesting for him to see her with female friends. I had thought they would have had scene where Simi, thinking Abhi sees her as a friend (and more), is excited only to learn, Abhi is like that with all his female friends. Her face is full of dismay and she is devastated to realize she is just one of his many female friends. Plus, it would be so touching to see a scene with Simi feeling so inadequate among them and then Abhi pointing something out about Simi's personality that makes her so much more special than all of them. And I agree, somewhere in there we could have Abhi initially encourage her that men and women can be friends.
I like the idea of the music and I was hoping there would have been a scene where Abhi takes Simi dancing or teaches her how to dance (Neil Bhatt is a dancer). Also, we can see their different tastes in music. Abhi can even take her to a show - all the differences between them will be seen.
That's about half a dozen episodes right there that I know I would have loved to watch.
I also like your point about the independent Abhi versus dependent Simi - that's so true and that's what I got about their personalities. It would have been so great to have seen more of this in his personality.
Sajibabe, you and I are on the same page here. I just wish the creatives would have talked to us before they made their fiasco of the storyline we have now.
I hope and pray they do something quick otherwise this is turning into a run of the mill drama.

excuse my barging in... but i cant resist adding my tuppence worth :) since i have strong opinions on the matter (and yes i know im sad for taking a soap so seriously! hehehe... n i dare not own up to my husband or i'll never hear the end of his jeering! :p) anyway ...like u said, age is not a big issue here... 8 years older is no problems... but call me an ageist/sexist but a 22 year old male is just a boy...even if they know heir minds they change them... and peer pressure is a supreme force in life at that point... half the joy of scoring with the opposite sex at that age is sharing it with mates...
if he were 25-26 his falling in love with a 34 yr old woman was much more plausible... in my humble opinion ofcourse!

All said and done, at the end of the day, yes, it does bother me too that, he is made 22 from 24-25 and she a 30 from 28. 22 is just 1 yr older than being an adult and feels more like a puppy love! IMO too, 24-25 falling for 34-35 would also have been fine. The change in behaviour (body language here, Iam not talking about the insecure or the je alousy part)is right for a 22yrs old!

Lol .. I know what it's like. Shared my thoughts with my partner and he's having a ball ever since by poking fun at me over my "supposed crush on Abhi". 😃 😆.. but he is kinda cute 😉

On the age note though I still think the age doesn't matter. A 22 yr old can be fairly mature, specially if he's lived in boarding school/hostel as is Abhi in this case. By now most of these guys are independent enough to make their own decisions in life. His mom/sister look out for in the time of need. That itself shows that he's not some kid but a mature guy for his age.

If it was any other guy perhaps he wouldn't have helped the girl beyond the ride back home. But Abhi went out of his way to help her. All this shows that he is definitely not a kid. He doesn't seem like the regular run-of-the-mill kinda 22 yr old guy.. he's different! Perhaps that's why he stands out!

What matters most is whether you click with your partner. In this case, they do. Though it's still too early for them to jump the bandwagon and get married!! .. Let them play with their emotions and feelings, get to know to each other and have the fun banter (babootars) before anything substantial materializes.

Based upon your comments, whenever they make a childlike, immature and insecure Abhi, it contrasts with what the creative team originally showed us.

Yup, rightly said so Laila. The Abhi in the past few episodes is a definite contrast to the original fella.

The serial has gone so off-track with the Abhi character .. I am waiting to see what happens on Monday. Indian serials are so unpredictable that they can easily knock you off the seat (Won't be surprised if Simi barges out stating that Neetu had got the pregnancy test for her and Abhi is the father!!!! .. this way Nakul/his dadi leave in a huff .. and much to the amusement they both get hitched! .. ) ..Yippie yay!! .. fhir kon kebab mein haddi banega.. lol..

Ooops sankum youve touched a sore spot ... especially with laila (hope u dont mind, laila, it's all in good sprit! 😊)
i guess we're all saying the same thing ... we fell for a delightful Abhi, reliable, independant, critical of his parents' superficiality etc , in short all of the things you list sankum (except for the funny t shirts!) ... if we had been told at that point that he is 22 we'd have probably bought it.... afterall a 22 yr old can be mature, like u said, and there can always be exceptions... however the issue here is that the creators had him declare himself 22 in the thick of it all and worse still had him act like a pre pubescent boy in throws of his first crush...which was a complete 360 degrees away from the qualities which made him who he was... now its hard for us (harder for some, especially laila 😊) to take him on face value...because he's lost substance... we're not sure of this Abhi as we were of the one who calmly folded his arm and fixed her with a piercing gaze as Simi huffed and puffed at him about doing it for her family!
