well, this is my first post here and I dont really know many of you guys. My intention is to have a healthy discussion.

I am aghast at the ease with which physical intimacy is being treated as casual by few members. As such the movies have gushed the culture down drains long ago. Its a different world altogether. I fail to get the definition of modern!! Why has modern have something to do with wearing skimpy clothes in the name of fashion, having wierd hair dos or as being discussed here - being less cared about physical proximity with opposite sex? I can see lot of teenagers now taking things easy in this aspect. I am not speaking for kids who are born and brought up outside India, they definitely will have a different influence to what is in India
will continue...rushing to a meeting!!eerrgghhh!!!

I agree luvmusic 😊
Being Modern is good, which includes "giving space, allowing girls to pursue their ambitions, giving the girl the freedom to choose what to wear, what profession she wants to pursue etc". Being modern also means to be thoughtful of our actions and what impact it may have in the future. Girls who just flow with emotions without judging the waters she is treading on, most likely ends up being hurt and one should always be careful and think from all quarters before doing anything stupid.
There is a thin line between being modern and being pseudo modern.

I agree.. holding hands is still ok, but the way Rumpa is touching Hittys lips, it looks really cheap, that too on national TV

The guys who watch this would still marry the girls, but it will be quite difficult to convince the elders to approve of a girl who was involved with a guy on a show. None of us said that PDA is not allowed or should not be done. Please interpret our sentences correctly. We are only saying that if these girls do not end up marrying the kunwars on this show, what image of them will the "indian" society have?

@ the bold part: are you serious?? i can bring up a ton of quotes from this topic where members are refering to the affection as "EWWWWWWWWWW..DISGUSTING...GROSSSSSS"..so dont worry i did interpret the sentences fine
Refering to other posts made about my comment:
  • these girls came on this show to get married, to get to know and understand the other person, to get affectionate on a channel where the whole world is watching...they are not blind, they see the cameras following and watching them, they KNOW what they were getting into when they signed up for this...as ive said on an another topic before, if your going to get greedy about money and fame then accept the consequences
  • i understand that you guys are "worried" about rumpa's future...but honestly all the bashing i see here about all the different girls including rumpa doesn't make you guys' "concern" seem genuine..and the bashing wont exactly help get a "respectable rishta" as well if *GASP* an elder comes on this forum and sees your insults on their future bahu
  • i have actually mentioned to my mom before that this show is ridiculous with all the girls always cooking and cleaning and then mothers speculating on their cooking/cleaning skills as to who would be the best servant to enter their son's life..so yes its not a modern show where the boys bring their moms to boss around the girls
  • now hitesh and his mother have practically guaranteed that this marriage is going to be official...so if shes affectionate with someone she thinks is going to be her future husband after spoken with both of her parents about him....then i dont see why other people who arent even involved in this relationship should have a problem with their actions if their own parents have practically confirmed the engagement...now if they do break up and if i was in rumpa's shoes and some elder is pissed because of my affection toward my supposed future husband then hell no will i ever consider going into a family with such narrowminded beliefs and thoughts
  • In the end, its rumpa and hitesh's problem, not yours so stop pretending that you guys actually care about her future
