adhi comes & wakes up a sleeping usha & chastises her for insulting his friends. usha says hello slow down u dumbo(oops just my imagintion running loose) anyways she retorts back askign who insulted who, u did or i did. just becasue u scream at the top of your voice what u say wont become right.

think about it one day i come there to serve you guys , your mom says we have a velaikari so i dont want youto serve, then there is you crackpot, insulting me by treating me like a velaikari to serve the minister & co, there is a limit to everything she says. I have my self respect, whether u like it or not im your wife, that is why i struggled and got married to you(duh!), & anyway who is this minister who keeps calling you mappilai in front of me, your wife, now come on let me look at it from your window, u feel nice and cosy that they callyou mappilllai, but that doe snot mean that i have to leave my self respect and put up with this nonsense. Adhi is barking again and saying that his guests mean the world to him just like how her self respect means a lot to her(AIYOODA ivanuku mutiyela koda molai irukadhu pola irruku).

Arivuketta adhi goes on about how he had to pacify rekha for an hour, now comes the best dialogue ever USHA SAYS "YOU ARE SICK ADHI" that is right you heard it right, she says you are sick adhi, that you will run after some creature to pacify her, when your pondatii's manam is flying in the air. HOW DISGUSTING CAN YOU BE ADHI, that is it, our man starts showing his selvi colors and tries to strangle her, and now enters jiljil ramamani(kanchana, i still cant get why she is wearing gujarathi style sari) and tells adhi to go to sleep downstairs( NOW this is disgusting) & he follows his moms orders

abhi's chithapa takes his son to do illegal business inspite of his wife & dil stopping him. he introduces him to someone's brother and asks them to take care of his son. (wonder why these people are still inthe serial, i guess hawkins break for thuls)

thuls comes to abhis house & ask her if she is not going to work , he also tells her that loosing that contract is going to hurt their business big time. abhi says what hurts her most is how adhi is behind everything and trying to hurt them every step of the way, karpagam is listening to all this, thuls & abhi leave, karpagam calls mano and says u all say that your boss adhi's father is a good person, come take me to him i WANT TO MEET HIM RIGHT NOW. mano is a little hesistant , but then karpagam insists that if she wants to speak to him about adhi's behavior, (here im getting all excited, at this sudden change in kolangal pace), & mano says ok if you insists i will take you to the trust office, & not to their house. karpagam says ok let us go now, the bells are ringing in the background

usha's house eshwar is getting ready to go to work & kanchna comes with her illogical condition as to how he shoudl not go to work today as they have to rekha's house as it is i think rekha's b'day or some getogether at rekahs house. she says herself, eswar & adhi will have to go. eshwar tries to wiggle out of this one, she insults him about how he goes to the trust fund for wasting money, etc, & when eshwar suggests that they take usha & k's mom k refuses. eshwar like always agrees to meet them at lunch after he takes care of his trust fund business. eshwar apologies to usha, who says even if she was invited she would not like to go, as usha and patti watch eshwar steps out of the house and as he crosses the padikattu, he thadukufies and sits down akwardly, usha & patti come running to his rescue

hoepfully they dont drag another 20 episodes before karpagam & eshwars meeting

Karpagam asks mano if she can go back in the same auto home, as mano has something else to do. MAno asks the auto person if he will wait, auto guys says not a problemo. Then karpgagam says she does not feel very comfortable, since she does not know this eshwar person & what would he think if she goes and complains about his son. Mano says you dont know eshwar sir, he will only do what he thinks is right. Karpagam says so why would he want to let his son down in front of a 3rd person.

Mano says amma, do you think what adhi did is fair, karpagam says it is AKRAMAM, & since i cannot take it that is why im going to see him to get justice. Mano says if this is akramam, then eshwaran sir will definitely thati ketufy. when i worked in his house as a driver, everyone used to treat me bad, but only eshwar sir used to treat me well. I know he has thani pasam towards me. Karpagam feels little calm, mano continues and says that eshwaran sir also likes abhi akka very much , so if he finds out that his son did this to abhi akka, he will take that adhi into task. karpagam is asking are you seriuos, mano says yes. karpagam says just becasue we are going to see him and talk to him, i dont want any confusion in his house(now we know why abhi does parobakaram to the world uh). mano says amma do u know, all of us in our house except you have met eshawaran sir. karpagam says i think the circumstances are such. mano says if you meet him once and talk to him you will come to know him. A very cute scene & mano is such a sweetheart

they arrive at the trust office, eshwaram the sleaze is on the phone inside & talking on the phone & telling someone that he has never let anyone down who believes in him. Then he sees mano & karpagam as he is stepping out of his office & instructs his office staff that he is busy with something and no one should be allowed to distrub him. The have some song playing in the background, did not register much of it.

Mano is told that eshwaran sir is out of town so he cannot see him today, so mano & karpagam leave, karpagam leave inthe auto , as mano has to head somewhere else. a few mins after karpagam leaves she wants to buy flowers , finds her purse missing and realises she left it in the trust office, so she heads back to get it. In the meantime Eshwaran the slimy creature thinking that is out of danger gets ready to go for his lunch appointment with his family. they show a picture of him & kanchana in his office, surprisingly she is wearing her sari the normal way. karpgagam arrives takes her purse , eshwaran comes out of his office, speaks to a college who interrupts him about his son adhi, karpagam, turns listening to this and sees eshwaran. she is shell shocked,(good expressions), after a few mins of starring she just runs down the stairs without uttering a word. E follows her , but she takes off in the auto, remembering the days when he had left her for the other women in bombay and realised how he also had 3 quick children(GOD IT WAS SO DISGUSTING, THAT I FELT LIKE STRANGLING THAT ESHWARAN, NO AMOUNT OF JUSTIFICATION IS WORTH FORGIVING HIM, 4 CHILDREN WITH EACH WOMEN YUCK) 😡 🤢

poor karpagam arrives home(it is about time she realises she should stop crying since cause of being left alone by such a worthless character, & be glad that he did not have 10 more kids with her) rajendran coems and asks her if she met eshwaran she says she did not have the opportunity, as she quickly wipes her tears
rajendran goes to get a cup of coffee for her, when the phone keeps ringing(eshwaran ofcourse) K is lost in thougts , R comes and asks her ot pick up the phone, E speaks, K cuts of the phone saying i think itis some lost person

it was a very neat episode after a long time

January 23, 2006 - Monday updt

Andhra- Satish (chitappas son) is with a naamam (just the srichoornam part) - made to look like an andhravaadu and people are forming a line with money in their hands to buy electronic/electric/consumer goods with the fraud cronies standing by and inviting them to come buy these products at a rock-bottom price and also enter in a contest to win fabulous prizes. Lots of marketing(!) being done by the fraud gang in Andhra. People
are told to pay less than 50% of the cost of various items which can
be collected by them after 7 or 10 days. Some of them ask questions
(In order to show people as not too foolish) like how this scheme is
affordable for the promoters for which they say that they invest the
money collected in stock market (so easy!) and earn profits which are
given to these poor people as lower cost of the product. (Modern day
Robin Hood!)
At this, the people are readily convinced and start paying up the
money to Satish who collects gleefully.
Satish is counting money and he is glad to see the surging crowd.

Rajesh was very cheerful and driving an auto that was decorated with a garland and taking his first savaari ( a tall guy) and said that he has leased this auto and will own it shortly and that the guy was his bhONi and asked him his name and says, hope the guy doesn't mind coz all he wants to know is that the guy's name is sort of a good omen..The guys says his name is Ganesan and Rajesh is happy. The guy has a suitcase which he drops in the back and alights in a street and hands over a 100 rupee bill and does not want his change back. Rajesh is surprised but the man insists that since R treated him like a VIP and also as he was the first passenger, he wants to reward him and R leaves. Then the man knocks on a rolled window of a parked car and talks to Rajesh's ex-boss, the rogue (my son told me he visited Arthi or something in the beginning before he changed channels). Ganesan says he kept the suitcase (planting evidence, i suppose) and then the boss tells him to carry out the rest of the plan.


At home, Rajesh comes in with a lot of joy and brags about his new auto, thought second-hand but it has been through only one hand before. Lakalakala is her usual self and cautions him and prods him. Rajesh says, he will very soon come up in life and asks his anni not to brag just because her husband has driven a lorry to Andhra. She says at least he brings home his earnings to which Rajesh retorts, from now on, they are going to see a new Rajesh and within a year, he will buy this auto and another in another year. Sleepy sundari is listening to all this with pride...if that is what you want to call what was on her face (some would say, oil and kari but I did see pride shining out of it). ANNi warns Rajesh not to dance on clouds and he gives a biscuit packet to his niece and has another carry-bag full of fruits, I suppose (aiyaa thinks he will get lucky with either of his jOdis, i think, maybe he has alwa too in that bag...aanaa, andha Arthi ivanukkE alwa kudukkara kind - appO sundarikku adichadhu luck).

His niece wants to go out and check the auto and runs back inside with the suitcase and Rajesh thinks hard and says, it must have been his modhal savaaris and he knows where he lives and he will go drop it off. Just as he comes out with the evidence in hand, a police jeep comes with Ganesan in tow and he points out to his suitcase and tells him this is it. The inspector collars Rajesh and asks him why he stole the suitcase with all the money and asks Ganesan to check if all the money inside is intact. Ganesan opens and tells that about 2 lakhs is gone and the police beat Rajesh and drag him to the jeep and they drive off, not listening to Rajesh explaining that he just found out about the suitcase and was just about to go return it. Sundari yells and runs behind the jeep and comes back to her yakkaa who is watching all this with amusement from the doorstep. She demands her sister to do something but VettaiyaRani says what can 2 women do? with her husband out of town and in-laws visiting temples, they by themselves cannot go to the police station and let things happen as they are supposed to. Sundari gets mad and says she will go herself and starts off, with Kala protesting in the background.

Update – Wed Jan 25

Here is update for Wed Jan 25 – nothing dramatic today.

Rajesh's house

Rajesh returns from the Police station to his house in a Autorickshaw
duly escorted by his 2 wives,Aarthi/Sundari. He is still in severe
pain after having been beaten black and blue by the Police. Kala looks
at the troupe with disgust and starts to taunt Rajesh by saying that
it is a shame that he has been charged with stealing money where as
his brother (her husband) even though he has no money is leading a
more honest life driving a auto in Andhra. Sundari tries to stop her
sister but is unable to do so. When her verbal blast starts
increasing, Rajesh tries to hit her but the pain in his arms forces
him to back away and he is then propped up by his wives. Kala then
gets the opportunity to taunt him even more. The 2 wives then jointly
pull Rajesh away (What a cooperation between Sakkalathis) and take him
to the bed room. Aarthi,seeing Rajesh's abrasions wants to put some
thailam and tells him to remove his shirt . Kala watches the scene
with some disgust!
Rajesh takes his shirt out and Aarthi starts applying thailam
gingerly. Sundari slowly comes out of the room and closes the door.
Kala sees her and asks her why she closed the door. Sundari explains
that Aarthi is putting thailam and so she does n't want to disturb
them. Kala laughs at her and says why you are so innocent and also
says they are probably enjoying themselves inside the room and you are
here outside!! Like this, if things go on, they will throw you out
later and you will be treated like a velaikkari here !! Just think! So
saying Kala walks away.
At this, Sundari starts to think a little bit.

Andhra

A big crowd is there in the place where Satish and his cronies have
set up their business (?).People are dutifully paying up their money
installments and Satish gleefully is seen counting the money. People
are being told to come after a week to collect the promised
things.After some time, Satish comes out and talks to a gang member
and then takes his mobile and calls his home. His wife lifts the
phone. satish asks her how she is etc and how is the child and she in
turn asks (what every normal wife will ask) whether he is eating
properly!She tells him to take care of his health and in the meanwhile
Chittappa comes in and takes the phone and teases Satish as to why is
he thinking of his wife and child only instead o concrntrating on his
business? He then asks him how the business is going and tells him
he should come back with lots of money to regain the family's lost
glory etc etc.. When Satish asks abt his mother, Chittappa tells him
sarcastically that the women of this house have no worries and only
the menfolk have to hard earn their money.

Road near Alamelu's house

Alamelu and her husband are walking on the road after apparently
visiting the ration shop. UN is seen carrying 3 heavy bags and is
shown a little out of breadth where as Alamelu kai veesundu
nadakkirah! (Looks very strange really!). She also taunts UN that
because of him only she is forced to take this ration rice/rava of
filthy quality and has to walk on these kind of bad streets (Big
maharani like talk). When UN tries to take little rest sometimes, she
tries to hurry him and tells him to walk fast and hurry up. UN is
practically panting and walks unsteadily in the middle of the road
when a auto comes and hits him. UN is thrown out near the wall and
Alamelu walking ahead sees it and exclaims "Aiyo arisi ellam
kottitduthhe" without bothering about UN's condition! The auto driver
stops and tries to pull up UN. Alamelu comes and fires the driver left
and right and says that with a lot of struggle they collected some
money to buy rations and now all this has fallen out! So the driver is
asked to pay some money. Now UN has somewhat recovered and tells the
driver that it was his own mistake and not driver's . The driver is
happy and leaves despite lots of protestations from Alamelu. Her anger
turns on UN now and tells him to pick the fallen rice from the street
and then only to come home. If he cannot do that, no need to come at
all! UN is the shown picking up the rice from the dirt. The scene is
watched with sadness by one of IN's friends.(who had earlier told
Abhi about UN's medical condition)


Andhra again

The collection goes on and Satish talks to his fraud cronies about the
next steps ahead. They show the brief case with money and say that 1
person will leave the place with the money and the other 2 (incl
Satish) will hold the fort for some more time and then the 2nd person
will leave with some more money. Satish should be the last to leave.
If all leave together, he explains, lot of suspicions will arise.
Satish asks why he has to be the last. The cronie says that Satish
looks a simpleton (paavam face) and hence he shd remain till the end
and then make the escape. He also says that he will go to Bombay and
then they can finally meet at their previous designated place (May be
double cross to Satish). While they were talking, a policeman comes in
and starts to see what is going on in the crowd. Satish and his
cronies get a little nervous and then mustering some courage come near
the Policeman and ask him what he wants. Policeman asks them how they
are giving away items so cheap. Satish tells the same spin story abt
investing the money in Stock market which will give profits( so
sure!!) and these profits are distributed to the people by charging
less for the products!
The policeman then says ok, I want 2 TV's – tell me how much I shd pay
now! (real comedy). Satish tells him that that now good brands are not
in stock and he can collect 2 good brand TV's next week surely!. The
police fellow then pays up his instalment and leaves. One of the gang
members tells Satish that if police are like this very easy to cheat
other people and so don't worry, they will go now with the money
collected so far and he can come later.
Camera then freezes on Satish.

End of episode

One day in last weeks episode Eshwaran goes to Abhis, house & shocks karpagam. Abhi is not at home, & he ends up speaking to anandhi & Mano, K listening to it.

E's excuse to go to abhi's house is casue he is interested in abhi marrying dr mahesh, & he is saying this in being in appa sthanam.

Anandhi gives an earful to eshwaran about appa sthanam. She says the only reason he is still at their hosue after uttering those words, iscause he is mano's ex boss andabhi's well wisher. SHe says that they all despise the word APPA. She says such bad & 3rd rate things about her dad that it isshockingto eshwaran. Anadhi says it is her dads good fortune that he isstaying away from them
& there will come no time in life , when such low lifes like eshwaran will be forgiven,

Close encounters of the third kind...........................

A spiffily polished Adhi comes in someone's office chamber and is made to wait for 10 minutes in order to pick up something which is almost ready.. While waiting, he happens to glance on a building plan and takes a double-take. Looks like that is a plan done by an amateur girl with no architectural background sans NASA which is going to put even the builders of ancient Rome to shame...Adhi is all wonders and wants to see the divine being who conceived this marvel, the likes of which he as never seen before. In comes nettakokku Arthi and is being introduced. At first shot, looks like she doesn't recognise Adhi and vice versa. (maybe now that Arthi is out of NASA, one of her so-called marvels will be taken up by the committee to build the new world trade center). Adhi compliments her on her drawings and offers her a job with lucrative pay..But looks like Arthi who is all smiles at first, refuses and when Adhi asks for coffee, she summons a peon and makes him get the coffee. (sorry folks, am yet to watch this segment fully but from the latter parts concluded that this is what that happened) Adhi is incensed and figures (how) that all in Abhi's family are full of fat - aka kozhuppu aka thimir. needless to say, Adhi is enraged...(world trade bldg contract pOyE pOchu)

The last supper...........

Adhi and Five rat (anjali, adhu dhaan, oru eli, rendu eli, moonu eli, naalu eli, anju eli - thangai) are at the dining table and Usha subserviently is bringing rotis from the kitchen and serves them. Adhi gives a side glance (paravaayillai, sight adikkaraanu nenachaa, he was just making sure she is all ears) and says how is it people from the same family end up as being full of thimir? Five rat is confused and then Adhi says he went that morning to a guy's office and happened to see a building plan that was awesome and when he offered to bring the girl in to his company, she refused and even when he offered her a lot of pay, like she has never seen before, the girl refused. Usha gives a cursory glance and is karumamE kannaayiram - serving something else. Anjali pretends surprise and says, why did she refuse and then Adhi lists her other doings - how he asked her for coffee and she had the audacity to deligate that to a peon and says, all this is because she is Abhi's sister. Now Usha is all ears.....Adhi lists Abhi's faults, then anandhi's and finally Arthi's. Five rat contributes to this saying, that Arthi has always been like this, but she was married to a mere autokaaran and how she hid the fact from all at college and finding out he is no good, left him. (that was wrong info, eli) also, she went so far as to get her own husband married a second time and that all in their family are like that, with abhi leading, how she is not living with her husband. Adhi says, at least in that respect abhi is better since she was legally divorced from Basker and now this is the timer on Usha's bomb.

She explodes and asks Fiverat to shut up (point blank) and asks Adhi to mind his words. after all, what do they know abt abhi's true situation. do they all know what went on in her life during the time she was married and the innumerable kashtams she endured and asks them not to talk about others. also, looking pointedly at Five rat, she says, it is so easy for you to be sitting at this table and eating the food which was bought with your father's money whereas they had no dad and had to struggle from day one and you, pointing to adhi, just because you are my husband, dont expect me to side with whatever you say. you have low or zero tolerance for someone with self-respect and cannot digest it of people who have been working under you come up in life. You want to make sure they are always beneath you and that is not good attitude in the long run. Better change who you are and act with sense...Adhi shows anger but Usha is on a roll.. she again warns them off and says she is his wife and so will have a say in what he should and not do and leaves the premises. Adhi is disgusted, angry and pushes the plate away angrily. Fiverat continues to forage for food in her plate.

Clear and present danger............

Andhra - Satish (can give Radhika (selvi) a run for her money - out-matching her constipated look - they both better go consult a gastroenterologist ASAP) - he boasts a criminal look too - is watching with concern while one of his business associate is counting moola. Satish calls his dad and dad is happy and enquires about their 'business'. Satish says, they have so much money and dad says proudly, see, i told u so and dumbo enquires how did he know and dad says, he knows the mentality of the foolish people and it is only up to them to harvest the same. Dad says they have to recoup all the money he lost and then Satish is also smiling and tells dad that they plan to start that night and all of them were going to meet at the temple as per plan. Dad is happy and agrees that is the right thing to do. now that they have successfully concluded their 'business' it is better to get God's blessings when they divvy up their share. they finish the talk and then the guy tells Satish that he is leaving and that Satish should lock up and follow and they will meet shortly. Satish looks with paasam around the place and then slowly fetches his bag, locks up the place and steps foot on the road. Andra policaa kokkaa? namma reddigaaru (the policeman with naamam) is going rOndhu on a cycle and hails Satish and is suspicious and asks where his partners are. Satish fibs saying that they have gone to their places due to some emergency and they should be back the following day and then the cop wants to know where Satish is going, he says to eat, so why take your bag to eat and so Satish is stammering and at a loss for words. Reddygaru is even more suspicious and wants Satish to open up the place show him all the goods when Satish realizes he is going to be caught and starts running. Reddi calls out for those invisible but ever-present public who buzz around at the drop of a voice and he shouts that the madras guy is trying to cheat them out of their money and so with all in hot pursuit, Satish is running all around the streets of Andhra....

Brief Update

Satish gets caught with the villagers, who beat him black and blue.

Usha is getting ready to go to mumbai, & adhis brother & the good sister are helping her pack & give her tips as to what to see in mumbai & about the family member where they are going to stat etc. Adhis grandma also comes and asks usha to make sure she has taken all the the stuff she needs for the trip. Kanchana is waiting outside and seems very insecure about adhi going with usha to mumbai.

Satish's wife is trying to take the milk bottle & by accident makes satish's photo fall & be broken into pieces. She is very upset and requests her mil to find out where & how satish is from her fil. Both the ladies ask satish's father about his whereabouts, who finally says that satish will arrive the next day. The ladie are happy

Next morning satish's father is waiting in the temple where he is expecting everyone to arrive. The first batch arrive and they share the 80 lakhs profit with satish's dad 50-50. Then the second car arrives and satish is missing & satish's dad is told about how satish got caught & they dont know what happened to him. satish's father is devastated. the temple gurukal comes and tells him dont worry your son will definitley come back, have faith in god.
