As Shakespeare wisely said, to err is human. Anyone can make a mistake, even Armaan. I know that a lot of posts have been made to express anger over his behaviour and recently some posts have been made in his defense. I thought I should add my POV.
Ever since Bharti's forced marriage to Omkaar, I have been quite annoyed with Armaan despite him being a character that I simply adore. I was highly vexed and have been very critical of Armaan because despite my liking for him, I like to analyze characters, which means even highlighting their flaws. Armaan has shown flaws in his personality which are his failure to act in certain situations and also his mental weakness.
However, my annoyance slowly changed into pity esp. after he seemed so visibly broken in Monday's epi. There was a lot of hurt and anger in his eyes, which was wonderfully portrayed by Aamir Ali. I truly believe that this role was tailor-made for the dashing actor. Okay, getting back to the main point *ahem* Wednesday's epi has changed my mind significantly.
I will not back-track on what I said earlier, I STILL believe that Armaan should have tried to stop his brother from marrying Bharti. And I highlight the word 'tried' because Omkaar would have married Bharti any way, even if Armaan had intervened. Let's not forget that Mr.Bihar is a thug and he will probably do anything to get his way, even if that means bumping off his very own brother. However, now I take the marriage as an awful twist of fate and it was Bharti's destiny. As KK said, she is there for a reason...
But after seeing Wednesday's epi, I saw a man that still loves and still cares. The only problem is that he is stuck in a family that fails to understand him and have a completely different approach to life than him. Armaan was the only one that stood up for Bharti. And his altercation with Omkaar outside the room indicated that at a later stage, Armaan just might fight for Bharti. I loved the intense look in his eyes when he was speaking to Omkaar because it reassured me that Armaan is a man with an honest and pure heart.
If and when Armaan finds out the truth, he will most likely kick himself for it. Other than Jia, Bharti is the only person that he has opened his heart to. It's unfortunate that he is so unlucky in love and he too has lost out in the bigger picture. It's hard enough losing the one you love, but to your brother, that's like a stake in the heart. And there are already signs of Armaan feeling some sort of guilt.
At the end of the day, Armaan is human and we all make mistakes. I know that he let Bharti down. We all want a companion that will trust and support us through thick and thin. But life is not black and white. Sometimes there is error in our judgement and we can hurt the person we love. But I don't think it's fair to say that Armaan no longer deserves Bharti. Let's cast our minds back to the time when he saved Bharti from Raichura, when he stood up for her against Amarjeet and Gyaan. Oh, there was the time when he gave Vineeta "darling" a taste of her own medicine. Also, when the large group of women complained abt vulgarity in the mag, Armaan believed in Bharti. When she ran away from the police, Armaan followed her from the club.
My point is that these little things that he has done have been quite significant. He's been a bit of a doofus but I would say that he brought some positive changes in Bharti and has been a calming influence. He's the only man that never tried to take advantage of her, for any reason. And going back to the point that he didn't fight for Bharti, well he's in a sticky situation because Omkaar isn't the only problem-it's the enitre family. And I have to point out that we cannot really compare Armaan's love for Bharti with Payal's feelings for Bhaskar. Bhaskar-Bharti may be two sides of the same coin but we are talking about two different identites that have gone through their OWN experiences.
What Payal does for Bhaskar is easier because she is the only one that knows the truth. Therefore Bhaskar doesn't have to hide anything. But Bharti has more to lose. And Armaan has been left in the dark about so many things. So in fairness, Payal has the advantage over Armaan. Another point is that Payal also could have done a great deal to help Bharti in this matter. But she chose to keep mum over it. Now that makes her the other gulity party.
Finally, I just want to reiterate my point that Armaan has made a mistake. But I don't think we should judge him and his love on that basis. He should be given a chance to rectify his mistake because all is not lost. He can help Bharti through this difficult period and can also straighten his brother. I have no clue where this storyline is heading but there could be a possibility that Omkaar is evil and Armaan can help Bharti to expose him, who knows. Whatever happens, Armaan needs to rectify his mistake by giving Bharti the moral support that she needs. And on Wed, we already saw signs of that happening. Armaan isn't Mr. Perfect anymore, he showed us that he has flaws too. And he's already being punished by losing Bharti. I think he's been punished enough. Time for forgiveness...
