After Pati Patni Aur Woh, Mouni Roy has a new gig on her hands – hosting the new season of Comedy Circus which will go by the name Teen Ka Tadka.
Mouni was a last-minute addition to the show, and prepared for it by watching other anchors in action. "I watched earlier seasons to see how they were hosted. I watched other shows like Dekh Bhai Dekh and Zara Nach Ke Dikha also. I have been observing how people talk; I tried to talk louder as my voice is very soft. I was so nervous on the first day of shooting, but I'm getting the hang of it."
Mouni says she loves the stage, no matter what she's doing, but adds, "I felt the first shiver when I was hosting. Comedy is difficult to do, it requires lots of energy, passion, complete focus and dedication; it makes you better actor. Given a chance, I would love to be a contestant."
The actress has just come off an exciting experience on Pati Patni Aur Woh. She says, "Shaurya was the cutest baby on the show. I really loved him like my own kid, when he left the house I was miserable." Despite her gulab jamuns not turning out well, Mouni learnt to cook on the show. Though it was tiring, the celebrity couples did get their freedom. "We could go everywhere; we went out shopping and even took the kids out. We were staying in a beautiful place. It was not like Bigg Boss where you are under house arrest," she says. "There was a lot of physical activity, cleaning the baby, looking after him, cooking, etc. It was supposed to be a real-life experience; after a few days, you can't keep acting for the cameras."
Being on show helped the couple's relationship. "It helped us grow. When you spend so much time together, all the things that you discussed in theory are put to practice. We had to do things together. Spending time together and getting to know each other better was nice." Mouni adds that though marriage is on their minds, they haven't discussed it yet.
About her career, Mouni says it wasn't a conscious decision to stay away from fiction shows. "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was tiring and my mind had completely given up on daily soaps. Now I think I am ready, but I haven't been getting great offers. I don't want to do another saas-bahu show. No one is going to make Lost or Grey's Anatomy here, but even if it's different like Ragini Khanna's role in Bhaskar Bharti, it would be good."
Well, we wish Mouni luck for her new show.
