First I thought what would Kritika or her mom would get by destroying Urvashi's dress. But as Ketki pointed out , it was to instigate Urvashi and then use it against her. Then doing the same thing in kitchen. It reminded me one of our neighbours. The MIL would steep down to such low tactics like turning off the gas before the meals would cook and then the son would shout at his wife that she does not know cooking, or once even burning his shirt in similar manner. And the guy would hit his wife that she was incapable of doing day to day chores. Coming back to the point that I was talking about, if Ketki is so smart that she could sense the ulterior motives of Devki and Kritika, why don't she act smart and let her son and their families fend for themselves. Can't she see how mean and dirty her son's are playing. One has taken away the business, other the jewellery and both of them refused to pay for their father's treatment. If the house is in her or her husband's name, why don't she use it for Keshu's treatment and live with dignity. Or is she waiting for more humiliation from her kids. It is at the old age when you need your partner the most, specially when you are sick, if she can't sense what these people are upto or agrees to the separation her sons are talking about then I don't understand what creatives want to show of her character. On one hand she is smart enough to see through people, help her husband in his business and on the other hand she would not understand what her sons are upto and meekly agree to live with one son and let her sick husband go with other.
