this is my first fanfic in this forum so pardon me if my writing is not up to standard. i'll be incorporating some of my own imagination as well as scenes between abhi-simi in the serial itself. it'll be a short story. i don't want to make it all long-winded & boring so i'll try to wrap it up with five or six chapters.😊

read, enjoy & comment!😳😳
Chapter One
simi finished removing the last of the jewellery. the wedding with rajiv bhalla had been called off yet simi didn't feel relieved. though happy that she didn't have to marry a womanising pervert like rajiv, simi couldn't help worrying about the future of her father's shop.
it was his livelihood & the thought of rajender sethi's shop being seized sent stabs of fear through simi. pondering over such thoughts simi didn't see milli walking into the room.
"simi di? you are still not done removing the jewellery?" she questioned simi inquisitively. her simi di had been sitting in front of the mirror for the past one hour and was showing no signs of moving from that place. simi was jolted back to earth by the voice of her baby sister.
"what did you say milli?" simi looked at milli's reflection questioningly. "i asked if you were still not done removing the jewellery yet simi di! uff.. what thoughts are you so deeply lost in?" milli placed her hands on her hips. simi shook her head. she didn't want to worry milli by telling her about the possible difficulties the family might have to face.
"hurry up simi di! you know papa gave given us permission to take you out for ice-cream! come on na! neetu has been pestering me for the past one hour!" milli grabbed simi's hand. "but i've not changed out of my saree yet.." simi protested but milli didn't listen.
"don't worry about that simi di. you look fine with the saree. now come na!!" milli tugged at her sister's hand insistently. giving up trying to argue simi followed her sister out of the room.
simi saw that the entire family had gathered in the living room along with chacha & chachi. rajender & manju tried their best to put on a happy face for simi's sake but couldn't manage it very well.
"simmo.. go & enjoy yourself. treat yourself to some ice-cream. milli gave us a great idea to cheer you up." rajender patted simi's head gently. manju agreed in a quieter voice. though the wedding had been called off manju wasn't too fond on the idea of simi eating ice-cream. what about her diet?
"maybe i should just stay at home. neetu & milli you both go & have ice-cream." simi recognised manju's reluctant look & immediately tried to make the situation better. rajender however wouldn't hear of it.
he forcefully insisted that simi go out & relax with her sisters. "simmo! go dear!" rajender said with a tone of finality that simi couldn't refuse. as the three sisters exited the sethi home milli gave a loud whoop of happiness.
"my simi di! you are finally free!!" milli did a victory dance while neetu smacked her forehead. "uff milli! you are ALWAYS so dramatic!" neetu pouted. milli stopped in mid-dance & gave a snort.
"please neetu di.. you are the one who always has her head in the clouds." milli smirked. simi intervened before the fight got serious. "stop it you two. dramatic or not i still love both my sisters." simi said simply.
neetu & milli stopped their arguing & gazed at their sister. "simi didi we don't know what we would do without you." neetu said while hugging her sister. "come now.. the ice-cream parlour might close before we get there." milli chided her sisters good-naturedly.
simi had taken about two steps when neetu stopped her. "wait didi.. we've got a surprise for you." she said & pointed into the distance. simi's eyes widened when her eyes fell upon the figure sitting upon the jeep at the far end of the street.
simi's breath caught in her chest as she recognised him. abhi. he was fiddling with his camera & didn't notice the three sisters who were observing him from the other end of the street.
"abhi! abhi! abhi!" neetu jumped up & down like an excited rabbit. hearing his name being screamed across the street abhi turned around curiously. his eyes fell on simi & he nearly dropped his camera in shock.
he hurriedly drove his jeep across to where the threesome were standing. "hi neetu. hi milli. hi.. simi ji." he greeted simi rather hesitantly. simi returned his greeting softly.
"we are going for ice-cream. want to come along? simi di has to thank you the most for trying to stop the wedding." milli nodded approvingly at abhi.
abhi's eyes however were fixated on simi who was standing quietly behind milli. simi recalled the way abhi had held her hand on the terrace, his grip firm yet gentle. his eyes.. his eyes they held so much of affection.
simi's cheeks turned pink & she avoided abhi's gaze in fear that he would realise what she was thinking about. abhi being abhi shared the same connection with simi, his thoughts drifting to the moments he shared with her on the terrace.
"oy! where are you both lost in?" neetu snapped her fingers. simi & abhi both snapped back to reality looking embarassed. milli who was always the observant one noticed the awkwardness between her eldest sister & abhi.
"did you & simi di have a fight abhi?" milli directed her question at abhi. he blinked at milli taken aback by her question. "no.. why would you ask that kind of question milli? I have a good friendship with simi ji." abhi's eyes found simi's.
she on the other hand could only nod mutely. though dissatisfied with the reply she got milli didn't pursue the matter any further. "let's go for ice-cream then. abhi you are coming?" neetu finally broke the silence.
"of course I am." abhi answered watching simi out of the corner of his eyes. "great! now we don't have to pay for the autorickshaw!" neetu quipped. simi nudged her sister in an attempt to shut her up.
"i want a pistachio hazelnut vanilla tower. what will you have simi di?" neetu handed simi the menu. simi's eyes scanned through the menu searching for something that didn't really contain too many calories.
abhi watched simi his eyes lighting up in amusement. "how about a chocolate cone?" he suggested, abhi knew how much simi loved chocolate. "yes. i'll have that." simi said without looking at abhi.
"i'll also have the same neetu." abhi added. a throat cleared at the table & everyone turned to milli. "so?" she stared at abhi. he squinted at her in confusion. "aren't you going to treat us? you are the only guy here." milli said pointedly.
"oh.." realisation dawned on abhi's face & he broke into a big grin. simi however was completely against the idea. "let me pay please. I should treat all of you for helping me out." she grabbed her wallet & walked up to counter before abhi could protest.
after placing their orders & paying for them simi waited at the counter. she felt a warm presence & turned to find abhi standing beside her. "hi!" he greeted her. simi gave him a serene & somewhat embarassed smile.
"i forgot to congratulate you on breaking the marriage with rajiv bhalla." abhi tried to make conversation when simi didn't make any indication of speaking further. "thank you." simi's short reply frustrated abhi.
"simi ji.. are you too tired or are you purposely trying to avoid me?" he asked curiously. "I.. I'm just tired." simi tried to lie but abhi saw through her instantly. "I already told you simi ji. you cannot lie to me. it's okay. I won't force you to speak to me." abhi turned around to leave & stopped.
he came back to simi & took her hand. simi felt a jolt of electricity course through her at abhi's gentle touch. "I believe this belongs to you." he whispered to simi. she looked down & found abhi's bell sitting in the palm of her hand.
before simi could react abhi had walked away whistling to himself. simi's eyes fell back onto the bell on her hand. the bell that had saved her from trouble countless times. the bell that she had given back to abhi. the very bell that had found it's way back to her.
"thank you." simi thanked abhi silently & he gave her a smile from the table as if he understood the unspoken words that hung in the air.
end of chapter one😃

Very cute; I am wondering how the writers will have Abhi return the bell to Simi. There are many things the writers of KH can do to build on the relationship. One of the things that they could explore (and you to), is the confidence and extroversion of Abhi's character in relation to the reserved and cautious character of Simi.
Plus, it would be amusing to see Abhi popular with the females at the party/wedding while a shy and demour Simi watches from the sidelines. While all these females aspire to be his next partner, he only has his eyes set on Simi. His validation of her only leads the others to fume with jealousy. Of course that does lead to one or two of them to seek vengence on her...(perhaps get Abhi drunk and have Simi catch them together??). We're brainstorming here...writers need some masala to keep our interests going.
Of course the writers need to develop their characters further; we don't know Abhi's plans for the future, where he wants to go with his life, his relationship with his family etc. We also don't even know what Simi teaches at the university and now that she is single if she plans to focus on a career. Also in doing so, will the sudden revelation of Abhi's love for her sets up problems in that area.
We also have the families and their reactions to this new found relationship. Also, since Abhi is y about younger and very different, his social circle will reflect his personality and we can see the shy and awkward Simi struggle with them. Also, we do have Abhi's need to refer to Simi as a "typical Indian woman" - something he does not sem to respect about her but in the end it would be a pleasant surprise for him to show is appreciation of this facet of her character.
Of course what show would be complete without a modern make over of Simi - a new hair do, dress, heels - a totally professional look and surprise for Abhi.
We also cannot forget Rajeev Bhala and his desire to play a role in destroying the relationship that could evolve between these two characters.
I do hope the writers will keep our interests and not destroy them. A couple of things about Abhi that I don't like simply because it looks so silly was his willingnesss to confess to a traffic incident and request for a ticket and his smashing his car into a tree. Both of these looked ridiculous and overdramatic. Thankfully the writers have gotten out of this mode so far.
Finally, I hope they keep using gel in Abhi's hair and do something about his sideparting. There is waaaay too much hair and he needs to gel it back and get the length cut at the back (it's too feminine looking and needs to be shorter). Also, the writers need stop the matching jeans and shoes look - it looks immature on his character). Hopefully he (the actor) can intervene and make some changes.
I forgot to add, one of the reasons that Simi chose to marry Rajeev is she believed that no-one would ever want her and if she forfeited that chance she would never get another chance again and it would ruin the chances of her siblings to marry. Abhi does not know the depth of her inadequacy and she (Simi) has never been open about it. She (Simi) has never told him about her 10 rejections and the suitors she would meet who would turn her down and her attempts to diet to look appealing. She has never even told Abhi how she truly felt about Rajeev Bhala and the whole nightmare she endured. We need more of this as an audience (at least I do). So I hope the writers or the people who can get in touch with the writers, pay attention to what I have written.
If anyone is going to read this post and comment, I know it will be Jiggly (by the way, I love your posts).
So Jiggly, what do you think??
