Nice topic, Anu...
The Singhania mansion has no warmth...its like a mausoleum...yes, its big but as Charu said the color scheme is so dull and boring...there is no natural light in the drawing room or courtyard (wonder how the tulsi survives?)...rooms and wardrobes are much smaller there than in the Maheshwari house....As others have mentioned, the outside gazebo area is the best part of the Singhania mansion...
I remember the first episode when they showed the inside of the Maheshwari house as Dhaniya was walking into work...it was absolutely beautiful...like a old haveli you would see in Rajasthan. The tree and the open air courtyard is fabulous; the artwork on the walls looked authentic...as Smitu mentioned before, the whole house seemed to fit the people in it...especially the way the Maheshwaris were prior to the wedding...Maheshwaris have always been warm and kind ...especially to the help, and the help reciprocate...The Singhania help is just there to work and back stab...says something about the people they work for..
This is the biggest difference in my opinion between the two families.
