Cross-Sex Friendship or Same-Sex Friendship?

After a long long time am posting a topic... Dil ko sukhoon mil gaya aaj.... 😆

Just randomly this thought came into my mind while talking to one of my best friends from the gang, who happens to be a boy... How about we compare these two types of friendships?

Which one do YOU personally prefer?
Which do you think, upon much reflection has a better long term understanding relationship?
Where do differences crop more easily?
Which one hurts more if it breaks after a deep initial bonding?
Which sex values friendship more?
What differences can we find between the two?
What is good, and what is bad in each of them both?

Some of the questions I could think of on the spot... There are loads other too, we'll initiate them as we go through the pages... ;)

PS. No fights on gender issues... 😆 Just about friendship joys and woes... 🤗

Actually kidding, I like virtual fights, they bring out the spice... Just don't go personal.... 😃😆😃

Cheers,
Sneha

I don't really have a preference, whichever one I get along with better I suppose. It just happens to be that my closest friends are mostly girls. Nonetheless, I have a few close guy friends who I would tell almost anything to as well.

Which do you think, upon much reflection has a better long term understanding relationship?
Well girls can be extremely bitchy! lol and guys can be better at keeping secrets :P but I'd still choose girls over guys in a long term understanding relationship cos things can just get really complicated with guys.

Where do differences crop more easily?
Hmm I'm guessing with girls if you like the same guy?😕But with guys, if you are really that close with them and so open about everything, then they almost become your soul mate.😳which is why your best guy friend will often be the one you end up falling for. Maybe it's just me speaking from what i've witnessed myself but it usually works like this. And then things get complicated if you go out and it doesn't work out whereas with girls things can usually be sorted (depends obviously).

Which one hurts more if it breaks after a deep initial bonding?
If they are both equally as close and I treat them as just friends, then they would both hurt just as much.

Which sex values friendship more?
Hmm I don't think I'd generalise here cos I know guys who have a very close knit group of friends and do just about everything together and other guys who would never put all their trust in their friendship. Same with girls really so I don't think I'll state a certain sex here.

What differences can we find between the two?
There's loads of differences. there are a lot of things I'd discuss with my girlfriends but not with the guys. But that's just me cos i'm very close with my girlfriends.😊Sometimes, guys tend to judge girls a lot more? Again, maybe just me?

What is good, and what is bad in each of them both?
I won't go in to details, every sex has its pros and cons and definitely cannot be generalised to every guy and girl out there.

well, after my 10 yrs of experience with both sexes, I think boys are better at being friends, but become problematic when having them as a boyfriend. sigh

I don't think gender properly defines who will be a good friend or not. It totally depends on the person. Although I will say that it totally angers me when people think that a guy and a girl can't just be friends. That is absolutely not true.

Having said that, as great guys are, I just need my girl-friends to giggle with on some days. I think that there are a lot more things that you can talk to girls with then you can talk to guys about. I'm sure they feel the same way. Point is, its hard to find people who you can really share that deep bond of friendship with, so when you do, don't discriminate based on gender.

It totally depends on a person. For me what matters is the behaviour, my rapport with the person . I dont like mean and bitchy people be it a girl or a boy .
