It was a fine morning at excel college…and today samrat had arrived way to early…even
before gunjan!!! Whoever saw him looked around twice to confirm but still giving him
a warming smile and heartiest wishes….well It was his birthday…..or may be the most
beautiful birthday of his life…coz it was the first time he actually had someone with him who was the most special person of his life…whose mere precense in his life since the past one year made him understand the true meaning of his survival!!!! Getting a basketful of gifts and wellwishes samrat's eyes now just wished to see gunjan…his love…his angel!!!
only then his gaze which was just now moving to each and every corner of the college gets stuck…..as if a disturbed soul had got salvation……..it was gunjan walking down the corridor gently In a beautiful white suit and the mild breeze made a few strands of her hair fall on her face…..Samrat was totally mesmerized seeing her like this………as if it was one of the most divine and pure experience he ever had.lost in his own world of an unexplained happiness…gunjan's soft voice makes him come back to his senses…………………
G(softly):samrat…
S:(Taking a deep breath and trying to control his heart beat)chashmish….tum aaj …….tum aaj bahut beautiful lag rahi ho…..bilkul….bilkul….angel ki tarah……………n his words bring a shy smile on her lips….though even uday too said her the same but she didn't
blush so much then as she was blushing now…
G:happy birthday samrat……
S:thnx chashmish….(n gunjan gives a sweet smile at this one!!!)
S:(feeling the serenity of her smile)……u know chashmish…pichle ek saal me jo bhi hua…agar tum na hoti…to aaj shayad kuch bhi itna perfect na hota…..thnx for always being there for me chashmish…thnx for being there just for me…..
G:nahin samrat tumhare saath sab kuch perfect isliye hua kyunki tum bahut achche ho….
S:(feeling too happy to hear his girl praise him):aaa…phir bhi chashmish tum ho isliye hi main aisa hoon…tumne hi mujhe ek achcha insaan banaya hai……..agar tum na ho to…..
G:samrat!!!..main hamesha tumhare saath rahoongi…..i'll always be there….n yes just for u…her words and samrat is left looking at her with sheer dismay as if what degree of goodness he must have done to get her love or can any deed be good enough to deserve her??????
Well that was an unsolved mystery of his life….
Now before samrat could tell gunjan what all he had planned for both of them for that day…Cheenu comes to call samrat with a message that leaves him shocked.
cheenu: samrat baba ye tumhara mobile…tum canteen mein hi bhool gaye the aur haan
ispe kisi ka phone aya tha…woh kaun si jagah se…haan phrance se!!!!
cheenu's words leave samrat totally shocked…..france that means his mom…or his dad
or may be both of them had called to wish him!!!!this time the spark in samrat's eyes
was completely different and gunjan did notice that….as if he was waiting for this moment!!!
Samrat quickly sees the last received call and dials the number…his eyes were glowing with anticipation…but for what…whether to get their wishes….to talk to them or just listen to their voice….gunjan couldn't decide…actually samrat never told anything abt his parents to her but yes she could realize that he was extremely happy . finally samrat's excitement came down…most probably someone would have received the call!!!
S:hello….hello mom!!!!
Person on the phone:no samrat I am miss Daina here…your mom's PA( this lady had
been an employee at his mom's office since a long time now and she knew everything abt
them).
S:oh!!!miss Daina….how r u??can I talk to mom…I think she called!!!
Miss Daina(feeling bad for samrat):I am fine child and….and it was me who called u…actually….
S:ya miss Daina pls go on….
Miss Daina:actually dear your mom had asked me to wish you on her behalf…she had an important meeting to attend….so she couldn't call…though she wished to talk to u but…..
Miss diana's words left samrat heartbroken…well this was nothing new!!!trying his best to control himself samrat gathers courage to speak….
S:oh!its ok miss Diana I understand….
Miss Diana:actually samrat your mom asked me to tell you that your dad has transferred 5 lac Rs to your account…as your…as your bday gift!!!
within a second gunjan noticed that samrat's expressions changed from that of depression to anger….without saying anything samrat disconnects the line!!!!he seems to be too disturbed!!!
It seemed to gunjan as if he may breakdown any moment!!! he seemed really lost.
G:(keeping her hand on his shoulder)samrat….tum theek ho na…tumhari aunty se kya baat hui…..unhoin ne tumhein bday wish kiya na….
S:(very angrily) bday!!!! bday to woh tab wish karenge chashmish jab…jab woh dono ye samjhenge ki unke bte ko apne bday par 5 lakh Rs ki nahin unke so called busy scheduele mein se sirf paanch minute ki zaroorat hai…..five minutes damned just five minutes!!!!!
Saying this samrat loses his temper and in frustration he bangs his hand badly on the window pane…leaving the glass shattered and his hand bleeding very badly.gunjan is shocked to see him like this!!!!
G(worried):samrat!!!!samrat ruko samrat……
But he leaves without listening to gunjan…………
After a while gunjan is anxiously searching something in the locker room and benji arrives.
B:hey gunjan…tum yahan?kya dhoondh rahi ho?
G:woh benji first aid box….
B:first aid box!kisi ko chot lagi hai kya???
G:haan…woh samrat ko….
B:kya!!!samrat ko!!!
G:woh benji samrat ko france se kisi ka phone aya tha….
B:france se!(he ponders for sometime and then gives a normal look….)Oh !!! its ok gunjan ye lo first aid box.(he handovers the box to gunjan who is surprised to see his so predictable look as if what all happened was nothing new!!!)
B:ab gunjan ye first aid box waise kabhi use ho ya na ho…par jab samrat ke ghar se phone ata hai tab definitely use ho jata hai!!!
G:kya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
B:rehno do na gunjan…tum jaakar use dawai laga do.
Gunjan was very confused!!! But she goes to the music room…well she knows that it's the
only place where samrat goes whenever he feels sad.as gunjan reaches the music room….she sees samrat …n unbelievably for the first time in her life though strange it was…but gunjan didn't like samrat playing the guitar… not only bcoz the tune was very lonely n sad but bcoz he was playing the strings with his bleeding fingers!!!.
Gunjan rushes towards him and gets a tight hold of his injured hand…
G:samrat ye…ye kya pagalpan hai…tumhare haath se itna khoon bah raha hai aur tum ho ki guitar baja rahe ho….dikhayo mujhe apna haath.
Gunjan takes out the antiseptic medicine and the bandage from the first aid box and is abt to apply the medicine on his hand….
G:samrat….thoda sa pain hoga…but….
S:(giving a disheartened smile)pain!!!...pain to ho hi raha hai chashmish…to thoda sa aur sahi….
Samrat's words peirce through gunjan's heart…but she is not able to understand as what to say so that she can pacify him!!!why his parents hurt him so much???she cant understand!!!so without saying anything she continues to do his dressing.but she can see how much depressed and dejected he is…its his bday and yet she cant do anything to cheer him up!!!
Gunjan feels really helpless and miserable seeing samrat like this.
G(after finishing the dressing):samrat tumhari chot kafi gahri hai…its better ki agar hum ek baar doctor ko dikhadein to….
Before samrat could say anything…benji comes from behind…
B:hey dude tujhe coach sir court mein bula rahe hain…
G:benji samrat nahin khel sakta…uske haath mein bahut chot lagi hai…..
B:relax gunjan coach sir sirf samrat ko team selection ke liye bula rahe hain…and waise bhi captain sahab ke bina selection kaise ho sakti hai…(and gunjan smiles with benji…but both of them notice that samrat didn't even smile once…it was so abnormal…samrat didn't react when someone wasflattering him!!!neither did he give his peculiar naughty wink!!!now both benji and gunjan being so close to him knew that he was totally not fine…they know him so well that his gestures alone are enough to make them understand what was going inside him.
B:dude waise…gunjan sahi kah rahi hai…tujhe kafi chot lagi hai….i think we must go to the doctor….coz shayad tujhe tetnus ka injection lena pade….
S(irritated):oh god guys tum dono ko kya ho gaya hai…I am perfectly fine aur pls mujhe bache ki tarah treat karna band karo…aur tum!team mein rahna hai to jaaldi court pahuncho!!!
n he leaves from there.
B: maine kya kiya!!!ab gunjan tum bhi jaldi ghar chali jao…nupur dia aur brnji bhi ja chuke hain party ki prepration karne…aur tum dekhna main party mein samrat ka mood kaise theek karta hoon….
But gunjan still had a worried look on her face…benji turns around to leave but he can feel gunjan's sadness….so he turns back to her….
B:gunjan….tum bilkul chinta mat karo…ye samrat aisa hi hai….aur haan chahe ye jitna bhi mana kare main ise zabardasti kal doctor ke paas le jaaonga!!!alright!!!
And finally gunjan smiles making benji too happy….coz where samrat is whom she loves…benji is one of her best friends…and even benji adores her as a sweet frnd.
Now benji leaves but gunjan is still thinking how to cheer up samrat when something clicks and gunjan's face gets enlightened!!!
Now in the evening a distressed samrat was walking down the corridor…he had no mood of attending the party at dia's place…but still all his frnds had planned so much for him so he couldn't give it a miss…But as he was just abt to leave…a peon comes to him and tells him that someone had called him to room no. 202. samrat was left a bit surprised…it was the dramatics room that was now a days generally locked or used rarely!!who would have called him there???but still he goes to check out……..
as samrat reaches the room…he sees that it was dark n only a few blinking flashes were visible as if a few candles were being lit….
as samrat enters the so quiet room his eyes are left astonished seeing the sight of the room…the room was all illuminated with many beautiful red candles….and their fragrance !!! it was so soothing that it left him spellbound for a second….but to be again mesmerized by something else and this time holding him back completely…..it was gunjan who gently lits another candle….and its illumination brightens gunjan's face….samrat never saw her like this….she looked angelic…the dim light of candle made her look eternally beautiful!!! Seeing all this samrat starts moving towards gunjan slowly and as he was going nearer and nearer to her…it seemed as if her magical essence was relieving him of all his pain…..as if what all had accumulated inside was happily dripping down to experience that heavenly moment!!!!
Now samrat was so near to gunjan that he could feel her breathe….
S:chashmish….ye sab….
G:keeping a finger on his lips…bas samrat aaj kuch mat kaho…main chahti hoon ki aaj hum sirf mahsoos karein….mahsoos karein ek doosre ke saath ko…ek doosre ke ehsaas ko……in nazdeekiyon ko….
And samrat wasn't able to believe…his gunjan who was so shy was saying all this…just to cheer him up…only coz she couldn't see him sad!!!seeing her concern samrat wishes to lose himself in her arms and let time stop there forever!!!
G:samrat maine tumhare liye kuch….n she shows him the sweet chocolate cake she has prepared for him…though it was small but sufficient for both of them to enjoy !!! it had a little candle on it….
She asks him to blow the candle and cut the cake through her eyes….and he does the same but his eyes are still stuck on her….
As he cuts the cake…gunjan takes a small piece of it and makes him taste it….it was the sweetest and most delicious cake he had ever had!!!the first bite and he knew that gunjan prepared it herself…..just for him…what all gunjan was doing for him he couldn't understand how will he make up for so much of love she was showering on him….and thinking this a tear escapes through the corner of his eye!!!
S:i am so sorry chashmish….ye sab to mujhe tumhare liye karna chahiye aur yahaan to…
G:kyun samrat kya sirf ek ladka hi ek ladki ko special feel karwa sakta hai…..kya….kya….kya ek…..Grl…..kya ek grlfrnd apne boyfrnd ke liye kuch nahin kar sakti….and this time samrat had to actually pinch himself…he can't believe this…gunjan always felt uncomfortable being called a grlfrnd and today she herself is saying this….
G:bolo na samrat kya main tumhare liye kuch nahin kar sakti???
S:(still confused that whether she is more beautiful externally or internally)abbbbbb….ofcourse chashmish tum zaroor kar sakti ho….
G:to phir ye sab chodo…aur apna gift khol ke dekho….
S:gift!!!chashmish mere liye?
And gunjan nods sweetly.it is a box wrapped in a beautiful red paper…and a pink coloured letter placed on it.samrat first opens the letter that was actually a heart shaped piece of paper and read something for samrat……
"hey samrat…how r u???u don't know me but I know u very well…may be coz everytime u smile I feel as if god has given me the most peaceful and serene corner of paradise…when u come nearer i pump across my bearer's chest so hard as if I will come out of her….and when u turn around to seeback I feel as if god has given me his most loved angel to look after me….u know what samrat I am the purest heart of this world coz u reside in me…….I am gunjan's heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
samrat reads these words and he doesn't know what to say to gunjan…the bday he was thinking was his worst bday ever coz of his parents….she made it the most cherished bday anyone on the face of earth would have ever had!!! Then samrat opens the gift…it is a dancing couple and as always samrat's eyes
lit seeing that and all memories related to gunjan and the dancing couple become fresh in his mind….but this time the gift was a bit different…it wasn't just a dancing couple but a kissing couple……….seeing the gift samrat for the first time felt as if gunjan was telling him the amount of trust she had on him and that she herself is trusting their relationship so much that she is ready to shed all her inhibitions and experience a moment of togetherness with him!!!keeping the gift aside…….
samrat comes closer to her…he keeps his hand around her waist…though there was no music but still both of them start dancing….their heartbeats were enough to compensate for any musical!!!and within a few moments of dancing like this they were lost into each other's arms to have an experience of a life that has no fear…a life that just had each other's unconditional love…a life that wasn't mortal but was etenal!!!!
