It was attempted rape and that's a crime, no matter who commits it. Here in the states we refer to it as attempted "date rape" since the victim and assailant know each other or are dating. What happened was attempted rape. Rajiv had full intentions of raping her but was unsuccessful because Simi got out of the car. Had Simi agree to have had sex with Rajiv, it would still have been forced because it was against her free will. What stunned me is she got in the backseat of the car with him.
