hello,
I am a person form a very conservative and strict family.. in my family using slangs of any sort is taboo....but in real life i have noticed that usage of slangs has become the norm of the day....In streets, workplace everywhere....they are even used as a term of endearment at times....many people even in I-F use slangs pretty frequently.... though with stars and all.....😆

personally i do use slangs when its necssary.. while dealing with difficult people and in s sufficiently informal places.....but not always....my sentences do not begin or end with them...

So what do you think.... is usage of slangs a good idea?? should it be ok?? as it does help many to relieve their frustration....tension... or isit a taboo?? something unpassbale in a civilised society??

I find slang to be an acceptable form of conversation as long as it is not overdone. With the advent of the internet and its spawning of internet slang and acronyms language is being disintegrated into monosyllabic word spasms interspersed with 'like yeah' and 'uh huh'. It is not long before language will of the next generation will disintegrate into ape like grunts and we will come full circle.

I'm not even going to delve into my frustrations over poor spelling, grammar and punctuation. Whatever happened to complete coherent sentences. Its like somewhere in a dark alley in the internet nouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives and all the components of language roll in their grave.

The only problem with slang is that communication gets very confusing at times. Teenager watches Lady Gaga play love games and says 'Lady Gaga is sick man'. Parent nods their head and agrees 'She is sick'. Two completely different pages. The good thing is that two generations agree completely on whats sick and whats the s**t. Who cares if they are on different pages.

My personal problem with slang is that I can get too attached to a new term and over use it. Like my biggest nemesis right now is 'I'd tap that'. Its a very appropriate expression compared to other slang expressions, and really great to use; but its perturbing when you realize that you have been expressing carnal interest for an i-phone.

As for swearing, thats not really the same as slang. There is slang swear and there is normal language swear. But its a matter of interpretation. Some people think taking the Lord's name in vain is swearing. I've been contemplating of switching to 'Yay Me' instead of the Lord's name in vain. Some find hell inappropriate, even though its right up there in Michigan. What are they supposed to have people geocache their hometown now? Then damn whats wrong with such a fine word, just a colossal water blocking structure with an extra 'n' at the end, would they prefer I say 'dike it' instead or better yet 'levee it'

Now my mom is an absolute stickler when it comes to swearing. I mean she is tough. No funny business with here. I will not put it beyond her for having me hold my tongue literally at the mall for having a slip up. My dad is more of a realist. When I drive "I'll swear at the car next to me. Bloody A$$hole." My mom will say my name in the most terrifying disapproval tones. While my dad will say "But he is a Bloody A$$hole"

Me personally I reserved a one way ticket to hell. I have a lisp or something. I mispronounce fork all the time. Just can't get it right. I put the hor, in horrible, and have an affinity for female canines and sometimes cats who went to London too. And Richard is too long of a name. And why does everyone seem to have his head nowadays?

I'm not sure how you're differentiating between slang and cursing, but the two are very different. Slang is usually 'street language', grammatically incorrect, and words developed through common speech used in everyday talks. For example, if I said something like "y'all", you can consider that to be slang.

On the other hand, cursing is bad, inappropriate, and filthy language. I occasionally let out a "sh*t" or 'damn' while I'm driving, but I have absolutely NO tolerance for people who feel the need to add the 'F' word after every single darn sentence. I do a mental cringe every time I hear the 'F' word, I somehow can't get myself to bear it, let alone say it.

My friends think its funny how I never call someone a b**ch, but rather say how they're such a B. I always say a-hole as well, never the whole thing. However, these are very rare instances. And personally, I think that saying or not saying both equate to the same thing, as long as you intend to say it.

In my family, my parents tell us to not call each other 'stupid' or to say 'shut up'. We do it just to annoy them at times. 😆 One thing strictly prohibited in my house, along with all the dirty words, is the term 'retard', my parents will throw a fit if they here any of us call each other one.

Anyways, all in all, will it kill some people to talk like a sane person for one minute of their lives? I mean, is the F word REALLY that necessary?

😆😆 Oh my. A friend of mine say a good looking guy walking down the hall, so she told my other friend to go 'tap that'. The two of us, being very conservative, had our mouth open for quite some time after that. 😆

I don't have one. If I had one, I would not be that interested in tapping one. Its only fun when it belongs to others. 😉😆
