Long time no c...(expect for a small mishap in between đ )
I was just wondering recently, why do we have a huge mental block against criticism...?
It could be because the word "criticism" itself comes with a negative connotation??
Everybody feels bad when criticised, ideally, we'll put it to good use and change ourself if the criticism is valid or we'll simply chuck it in the thrash can if not valid.
Instead of this, we take it to heart whether valid or invalid and decide to mop around and do nothing!!
We criticise the show, its actors, its characters, its makers because we expect them to take procedure route 1, not 2.
Basically, We expect them to change as per our criticism.
Since criticism itself is complex, slightly off track and we are in conflict zone
(i) criticism on the show
When someone criticises the show, at that point you may be loving the show, so you dont like the criticism, you protest.
(ii)Criticism on the actors
When someone criticises your favourite star for their acting or dress sense (or anything else) , you feel offended , at that time it doesnt matter to us that , the criticism in question could be used to better their acting and dressing sense. We want to save our favourite star from the harsh criticism
(iii)Criticism of the characters
Quite strangely this one point has been the most controversial..when reel-life characters are involved sometimes people dont mind criticising real-life people in defense of these characters.
Thats because there is a deep attachment to these characters.
(iv) Criticism of makers
This is everyone's current favourite passtime. But seriously, what else can be done? At the rate at which the show is going..everybody wants to give a piece of their mind for the creatives. (& I dont mean it in the romantic way --incase somebody misinterprets)
The MJHT forum itself is pretty open about criticism,
** So which category criticism do you do the most?
** Which category criticism affect you the most?
OR Do you believe this world would be a much better place without any criticismđ

PS - Do not over-criticise (read-->bash)
