I have the dry skin problem too, but what really annoys me is my dry lips! I've tried so many different lip balms, honey etc but nothing helps. So I've been thinking about maybe buying Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick, has anyone tried it or know if it help's?

hi golden,
I have not tried that one, but I also have dry lips during winter. I even have to use it indoors because the heating can also make your lips dry. I usually use this thing called Blistex, it has menthol and is medicated so your lips are soft and also it heals any chapping or cracking. It retails for like two bucks and using it regularly helps. The Body Shop also carries a lot of lip treatments as well.
If you drink something during the day, then you have to reapply obviously because it's washing off.
and most helpful, if you suffer from chronically dry lips, apply your lip balm at night along with your night cream, then next morning you will wake up with fully conditioned lips.
The problem with scented fruity lip balms is that there is more scent and color than any other ingredient. Meaning, it's more cosmetic than medical. 😳
An important thing is to exfoliate your lips just like you do your face and body, because if you dont do this, the lip balm won't work as well. Just take a toothbrush and run it over your lips lightly, this will take off the dead skin cells. Then your lip balm will be absorbed better.

Blistex? Where do I get that? Do they sell them in pharmacies or regurlar make-up stores?
Yeah I know about the fragranced one's I usually buy mine from pharmacies and stuff. At the moment I'm using Agatha Ruiz De La Prada's lip balm which is alright, better than the other one's I've tried till now but it doesn't do wonder's. And I do brush my lips with a seperate toothbrush once in a while I guess I should do it more often. Thanks for the wonderful tips though Trina, I'll definitely start looking for blitex 😊

you're welcome Golden. Blistex you can get anywhere, in pharmacies, supermarkets and online as well.
It does have medical properties and thats why I always buy it. 😳
Chapstick in the medicated formula, is also effective, more so than the flavored ones.
There is also a lemon-flavored one that is colorless but works well, it is offered by Arizona Sun and it's also good. It offers protection from wind and sun.
Also good are these colorless but scented ones from Boots, but they are only sold in Europe. I was traveling and I bought some of those, they are awesome. I tend to go for less color and more softness.
Anyway, keep me posted on what you decide to try. :))

Thanks Tina.
Yes Blistex would be my first choice because it's good for the price and it is medicated.
The Boots one is nice but it's milder.
