Jyoti could have just supported the maakya materially i.e. w/ her salary that is, but avoid any emotional support for the same reason that she walked away from there. After all, when she goes there, her step-mother and step-sister, who she ostensibly cares about, resent her presence. So even by her own logic, if she is causing so much heartburn to them, why does she bother going there at all? After all, all Padma wanted was her money, and the only reason Padma called her for that Phagware Rasam was that KK was pretty upset that they couldn't do that for her. Otherwise Padma didn't give a f**k about Jyoti. Even when Padma wanted money for Sushma, Jyoti should have just given it to Padma (instead of Deepu) and told her to get lost.

Want to celebrate Sudha's graduation and job? Call her over - Uday too would enjoy the company. Want to enjoy some moments w/ Papa or Dadi - call them over, like at the Ganesh Puja. There is no need to ever go back to that house. This way too, she could have supported her maakya, w/o letting down the sasural. Only exception would have been Sudha's arrest, but here, Pankaj and Uday were fully involved, so this was almost as much a Vashisth family event. I don't agree w/ Jyoti wanting to raise money to pay back Pankaj for Sudha: for anyone else in the family, it would have been okay.

If the creatives are trying to cast Jyoti as a saint along the lines of a Yudhisthir, they already spoilt it when they showed Jyoti not even informing, let alone inviting, her own family to her wedding. In between, Jyoti did show some sense when she at one point rejected Sandeep's request to intervene w/ Sushma: it's high time she now gets back into that mode and makes it clear to the family that from this point on, only Sudhi matters to her.

Jyoti has to be the Abla Nari Bechari...She was coming across as too strong and poised for happiness in her life...so all this nonsense. And the story is getting muddled and creatives do not know what to do with their creative juices...they never existed!!

Yeah, Gehna, I disagreed w/ CM's assertion that Jyoti turned Uday and Pankaj against her (somehow she'll later blame Jyoti for Uday falling for Sudha, if not both Sudha and Devika). But other than that, I agreed w/ everything she said today. And I liked her finishing touch, when she responded to Jyoti's kneeling w/ folded hands by folding her own hands and pleading w/ Jyoti to leave her alone.

That said, I no longer see CM as a positive influence the way I did just a week ago.

well the only prob is dt jyoti is still focussing on her mayka problems...and dts wht is creating problems and jyoti is unable to give her 100% to vasisth family and cm doesnt like dis..
but jyoti is good from heart and she knows dt its her mistake dt she is unable to become a good bahu dts why she keeps apologising for her mistake...

But apologizing only makes sense when one is capable or intends to alter one's behavior, and there is nothing to suggest that Jyoti is going to do that. Once she's seen Sushma to hostpital, you bet she'll go to her maakya and explain everything to Padma & KK. Instead, why wouldn't she delegate that to Deepu, and simply go home once she's done? Of course, she'd then have to explain to cm why he didn't show up for the Bhau-bij, so take Deepu to her home (i.e. sasural), run thru that ceremony and then send him home w/ the explanation. But you know that that ain't gonna happen.

Why does she have to devote so much time to them? What they need is her money - so simply foot the bills she feels she has to, and let Deepu handle the rest, and spend her non-office time home, so that cm isn't complaining about her abense, and the others ain't at a loss to defend her (or they would have). Or is Deepu too much of a retard to handle any of that himself, having interited it from Padma?

I agree, the show is straying away, jyoti knows shes not a good bahu but she is not doing anything to change it! I AGREE i do not like CM anymore as she is now very partial towards jyoti. Just because uday stood up for her makes him bad and makes jyoti have poisned his mind. Meenal is an idiot just like her mother1

I don't agree that Minal is an idiot - I actually agree w/ her analysis. Most families would not tolerate what the Vashists are tolerating. However, Jyoti isn't so much taking advantage of their tolerance so much as rushing to cure all ills in her family, which is no longer her role. The person I hate most in this is Deepu - why can't he step up to the plate, be the guy in the family and run things? Jyoti has done what she could getting Sushma out of there and to the hospital: now it's Deepu's job to not just explain to the family what happened, but drive things from there. Instead of making up w/ Padma, Jyoti should have told Minal that I'm on my way, and just returned promptly.

Note that in the Oct 23 episode, Sudha tells Jyoti that it's late - return home and we'll manage. Next day, while Jyoti is in the middle of all that, Deepu has the nerve to call her and tell her that Sushma is out of danger and come back. Again, why can't he, or the rest of them, handle this? On one hand, Deepu doesn't want to let Sudha travel alone to work, and OTOH, he is still dependent on Jyoti like a parasite. And Jyoti doesn't know how to let go, and soon she'll find out that everyone in the family, including Pankaj, share's CM's opinion, and in the process, this will jeopardize even the Suday relationship: if Uday feels let down by Jyoti, why would he trust Sudha to be any different?

I don't like this superwoman/saint role jyoti is trying to play. If you think about it, the only reason she's not telling her sasuraal about sushma is because of her own history with brij, which is selfish and not very saint-like. No matter what happens, she manages to keep her mouth completely shut about sushma. It's so frustrating!
