After the news of Shoojit Sircar making a film on the legendary singer Kishore Kumar, Quick Gun Murugun director Shashanka Ghosh has Aamir playing Kishore Da in an all new rendition to the movie.
While Aamir was intrigued with Shashanka's views on making the biopic, he felt that only a certain aspect of Kishore Kumar's life should be highlighted in the film. He felt that the romantic aspect of his life concerning his torn love for Madhubala would be perfect for the movie. Shashanka too confirmed to the press, 'The biopic went into too many directions trying to capture the multi-facted singer- composer-actor, etc. so I reworked it. And focus is now on Kishore Kumar's love for Madhubala.'
The reason Shashanka wants to focus on the Madhubala- Kishore Kumar angle is because the raw emotions that can be captured through the torment of her not being able to love Kishore because of the hole in her heart will grip the audiences in awe. Sources say that the director will revive the 1950's era digitally right from S.D Burman's bungalow on Linking Road to several other details of that era. The type of digital work he had carried out in Quick Gun Murugun fascinated many and he will only enhance that experience in the biopic.
While Vidya Balan is being considered for the role of Madhubala, Shashanka is getting geared with the enormous pre-production work for the biopic. Ghosh is also working on an adaptation of Alice in Wonderland for which he was considering Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. Seems like the ambitious director has his work cut out for him.
