I don't totally agree with Varshu's stand. In the first place she had never been honest to her family, especially knowing her mother's way (one who does not hesitate to confront you in public - in this way Sulochana is no better than Savitri). Can you blame a mother for over reaacting if her daugher lies to her (no matter what the reason) and then sees compromising situations (at least in the mother's eyes). No varshu was wrong in the first place to go to Pune without informing her family - here we are not talking about working late perhaps to midnite (something i have done myself) but going out of town! No reason for Varshu to hide and go. If she felt strongly about it, she could have told her mother that with or without her consent she wants to go to Pune as it is important to her for her career development - she may be surprised that the mother would accept it although reluctantly.
But i do agree that Archu can learn a thing or two from Varshu. Archu's loyalty should be with her husband. Right now she is not thinking for herself and letting her mother think for her.
