With the music of his film AKSAR proving to be a chart-buster especially the 'Jhalak Dikhlaja' number, director Anant Mahadevan is on cloud nine. "It is the hottest selling musical score in the market today. We knew from the outset that the music had a novel feel to it because we had worked on a new sound track but we never expected this kind of an unprecedented response," Mahadevan reveals.
According to him, both he and music director Himesh Reshammiya decided from the outset that the sound track of the film would be one of its high points. "The film is a slick and glossy suspense thriller and we did not want the sound track to impede the storyline which is what happens with most suspense thrillers today. Moreover we were looking at a pulsating new sound track for the film, one that would keep the suspense element alive and go with its racy story-line," Mahadevan recalls.
He is confident that the musical success of the film will now translate into its box-office success. "There are no two ways about it considering that the promos of the film have drawn an excellent response so far."
The film tells the shocking truth about people in high places, according to Mahadevan. Moreover Mahadevan admits that his actors, Emraan Hashmi, Dino Morea and Udita Goswami, have rendered remarkable performances in the film. "Dino's performance in the film is a revelation. He has outdone all his past performances in the film, whereas Udita has got a role of a lifetime. Emraan also has a totally different look in the film which is very casual and performance-oriented," he says.
The high point of the film is however its climax. According to Mahadevan, he has chosen a very unusual ending for the film. "It is not the conventional ending that one would expect in a suspense thriller. I am eager to know how the audiences react to it," he says. Prior to that however, he is looking forward to the film taking a great start.
