Adit has brought his uncle and aunt home. He tells Vidya that he has to leave for the office for some work. She is cross and tells him she is left with looking after the kids and the guests and the cooking and ………..
Adit tells her he'll take Antara with him to lessen her burden. He is seen carrying her all over the city while he is trying to sell the beauty stuff. And what do you think the dingbat is doing all the while? Remember her brother is roaming the streets trying to earn an extra dollar so that he can provide for her marriage expenses and her SIL is slogging over the stove providing food for the guests who have come for her marriage. So ……… the batty woman is sitting in front of the mirror batting her eyelids to no one in particular and trying on her jewellery. Vidya comes into the room all exhausted. The bejewelled fool tells Vidya to sit down while she gets a hot cup of tea for her. Vidya says thanks but no. Classic case of give an inch and take a yard. Vidya dials the phone to Adit. She wants to know about Antara. He tells her she's ok and if she feels sleepy he'll make her sleep in the staff room. He says he'll reach home as soon as he winds up from the office. Vidya is regretful. The dingbat asks her what the matter was. She says she did the wrong thing by allowing Adit to take Antara with him. She'll trouble him if she's uncomfortable, she tells Arti but the selfish brat flippantly that if bro has taken it upon himself to look after her, I'm sure he will. She tells Vidya to rest. But Vidya can't and tells her she's going to bring back her little girl. You rest if you want you. Great words Vidya with just a trace of sarcasm in them. But alas! That was lost on the thick-skinned donkey.
Vidya comes to the bank and asks for Adit but she is told that he's on leave since two days. Vidya realises that something's wrong and then comes face to face with Adit's devious boss. He guesses who she is by her father's reference. He asks her why she is here. She doesn't divulge much even when he tells her that her husband is on leave. She leaves from there. As she is going in the auto she sees Adit with Antara entering a housing complex. She calls out but he can't hear. She sees him going into a house. She asks the watchman who that man(Adit) was. He tells her he is a salesman. He comes often to sell stuff to the ladies. All the pieces fall into place and Vidya realises how hard Adit is working to make ends meet.
He comes out of the house. He looks dog tired. He makes Antara sit on a car while he takes a breath. The watchman comes by and shoos him away. Antara spots Vidya and calls her but Vidya hides and Adit can't see her. A tearful Vidya again calls Adit on phone. She asks him where he is and he tells her that he's leaving the office to buy the stuff for the ceremony. Also Antara's fine. He feels Vidya sounds tired and so she tells him…. not as much as him. He says he's been fine in an A/C office and so isn't tired. She says she's not tired and would like to join them for shopping. She soon joins them. Adit sees her puffy eyes and again asks if she's ok. Suddenly Antara shouts..Antara icecream. So her parents take her to the stall. Adit asks Vidya which flavour she'd like to have. She says she doesn't want any. He tells her he has the money to buy icecream. So she chooses chocolate. But she starts to weep. She says how will everything be taken care of….He asks her not to worry and says SRK style Main Hoon Na……
When they return home from shopping, they see Mrs G. They ask if the heavy bag can be kept at their shop and she allows it. Festivities are on inside. After a hard day at work, the old hag has nothing kind to say. She belittles their efforts and points out the simple arrangements they've made. But both Adit and Vidya keep quiet. Arti says something but a look from Vidya quietens her. Arti's friends want the mehendi ceremony to start. Vidya says she'll put Antara to sleep first. She tries to make her sleep but Antara resists. Adit comes in and tells her he'll take care of Angel and that she should change and go out. Vidya says she has to cook for everyone. Adit says he'll order the food. But she says everyone wants to eat home-cooked food. As Vidya starts to leave…..Angel catches the end of her saree and says, Vidya. Adit is surprised but happy and so is Vidya. She sits down, strokes Antara's hair and kisses her.
Thought of the day: What was Arti doing the whole day while Vidya and Adit did all the work? She couldn't start on the cooking side until Vidya took over?
