Mona Singh, a familiar face on television, is finally making her transition to the big screen.
In Raju Hirani's Thee Idiots, she plays Kareena's sister. And she has signed her second film, where she will be playing the lead role. The film will be directed by newbie Viraag Mishra, a close friend, Vinay Pathak's close friend.
Keeping it confidential
The project is under wraps but we learnt from a source, "Mona is paired with Vinay Pathak. The film goes on floors next month and will be a romantic comedy. Mona signed a confidentially contract last week and has been told not to divulge any details whatsoever."
Mona will also be a part of Onirban's next, a series of six short stories combined into one film. Says a friend of the actress, "She is being very selective about work and even though she's flooded with offers, she wants to do work in the league of Konkona Sen Sharma. Recently, she was heard telling a close friend how much she adores Koko and considers her an idol."
Onirban's film will have Mona in a sensitive role and deals with topics like sexuality and child abuse.
