Sagar's exit from the show just goes on to prove that the Indian voter is not just influenced by looks and charm on stage. They are equally critical of quality of performance and just one slip up can cost any of the finalists their claim to fame. In the first of the gala episodes, Sagar's performance on the peppy number Chote chote sheheron se from the movie Bunty Aur Babli was not received well. Contrary to his usual performance, his gloomy expression and lack of enthusiasm was apparent to the judges in the Monday's episode.
Though Sagar might have received a few negative comments from the judges, Karunya too did not perform up to his maximum potential due to a bad throat. However, the votes have shown that they were more critical of the younger contestant and favoured a more stable and mature Idol finalist.
Sagar has always been Farah Khan's favourite, and she still believes that he has lots of potential, and that the nation seems to have missed the bigger picture while voting him out on the basis of just one performance. Says Farah: "Sagar's last performance had a major loophole. It seemed as if he was not enjoying his performance.
It felt really bad to see him like this. However, I always wanted to use him in one of my Pepsi commercials and now that he is free, I will certainly like to take him in some of my commercials in future!"
The power of the votes has determined the destiny of one contestant and each coming week will make it tougher for the finalists to perform under pressure and for the viewers to decide who is the most deserving of the prestigious title of being the agla Indian Idol.
The next round will decide the fate of one of the six female finalists. Will the public vote once again be based on an overall performance or will they be influenced by the looks and attitude of the beautiful girls, only time will tell. So keep watching... And don't miss John Abraham in the coming gala of the girls!Source: http://www.hindustantimes.com
