It happens a lot in Indian families when older daughters pass marriage age either due to some obligations or some other reasons they tend to choose what ever comes in their way good bad or even older married man with children so that other siblings get proper choice.

In other words tehy sacrificed themselves to preserve their younger sibling's happiness.

Majority of times Elder daughters consider their younger siblings as their own kids and a mother never hesitates before sacrficing for her own kids.

I so agree with you. True they feel obligated to always thinks the best for the siblings and give up their happiness so that siblings get happiness.
