No fear factor for Ratan Rajput
Mumbai: Picture this: You are shooting for a TV show and suddenly a serpent pops up all of a sudden out of nowhere. The 99 per cent possibility is that you are going to scream your guts out. For Ratan Rajput famously known as Laali of Zee TV's Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, it wasn't a big deal.
The deal was that the unit of Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo was shooting in Film City and the sudden guest appearance of a snake made everyone panic. To everyone's surprise, Ratan Rajput came to everyone's rescue from her make-up room and the snake found a charmer in front of it.
Ratan says, "It may sound funny and unrealistic but it's true. By the time the unit saw the snake, they hit the panic button. Though I was also a little scared I managed to throw it out of the sets. Thankfully, the snake wasn't a poisonous one."
During the earlier days of Agle Janam..., she did everything possible when the unit was stationed at Wai. Amongst other ghastly things like plunging in mucky waters, rolling in mud, walking bare feet on scorching heat, catching a rat -- she learnt how to catch a snake from one of the villagers. Though it never came handy then, this sudden advent of a snake god had made her shed all her inhibitions and tame the snake.
"I have shot with real snakes in the second episode itself. Yes, they were trained ones but it was quite adventurous shooting in Wai. I have experienced the presence of some reptile or the other on the sets during the monsoons. First I used to get freaked out, but then I started accepting them as something very natural. Film City with its forest areas can be very dangerous at times, but I guess I'm getting used to it," she ends.
