Sushmita on love, marriage,controversy...

Wishlist at 30
I turned 30 on November 13. I went to Venice with my khandaan. At 30, every aspect of my life is equally important. I will focus on my acting career, business, personal life for the next decade and hope everything will be okay, and I will retire at 40, I hope to the French Riviera. These are my concrete plans. But I'll make such a journey out of it, so that I can look back and say that I have lived a life without any apologies.

Shaadi ka laddoo
Unlike my other plans, this cannot be concrete. It can be wishful. I don't know if I'll be ready for marriage... but yes, I definitely want to have a companion, otherwise life is so boring. And if marriage happens along with my other plans, fantastic!

Lounging around
Along with my production company, I have now started my leisure company where I am getting into recreational centres like nightclubs, hotels and lounges.

I was immensely upset, hurt and humiliated. The idea behind doing Chingari was to dignify a woman. So what if she is a sex worker? This is what Kalpana Lajmi, the director wanted, which is why I did this film. So for marketing or whatever reasons, a working still of the film is released by the producer and an actor who is young and immature decides to talk about it. It's unfortunate. It becomes a sleazy representation of our intention and I don't want to be a part of this strategy.

Hollywood beckons
My acting in Karma Confessions and Holy Cow is an extension of my being a Bollywood actor, rather than my debut in Hollywood films. I am comfortable being a Bollywood actress. I don't know why we make such big fuss about Hollywood. After working with them, I can say they are definitely more organised than we are. I'll start shooting in Argentina with Richard Gere for a film titled Expats. I play a Pakistani. I am the expat, so I guess that states the relevance of my role in the film. But again, I don't want to do a Hollywood film, because I can look Spanish, French or Indian. I am doing the film because they are going to represent whichever part of the world I am playing very honestly, not just mockery. It disturbs me to play unintelligent roles.

Ash is no competition
I have heard that Ash is also doing Rani Lakshmibai (Sushmita is also acting in another film based on Rani Laxmibai). Fair enough. But I am in no rush. Irrespective of what the market is looking at today, I want to be completely thorough with my research. It's not my priority to make it first, but to make it well. You can make 50 different versions of the film. But having said this, my version will be my version.
