I understand that everyone has their own views, but if you are making such a strong statement you should also provide the reasons for it.

The whole story line about how women are treated and women are just raised to take crap from man just because it's thier "destiny". The whole story is so ignorant. All it does is make woman look so weak and pathetic.

I respect that u think this, but the story has more aspects. It touches on high class vs. low class...it shows that class shouldn't matter, everyone is human...
yes, it has man vs. woman and it seems like men treat women like their shoes, but I think that is the whole idea, to show that this idea of thinking exists...and if you notice, the show has many female characters, and each has their own way of dealing with this notion that "men rule the world"...and they are developing all these characters...and the main character exhibits courage and strength...and she is making her presence felt in a male dominated society...
also, the story touches on love...and how u can't control who u fall in love with...
it also touches on greed for power...
we just have to be patient as the story moves forward and as the creatives take us through twists and turns...

oh and also, I think it doesn't portray women as weak...in fact, through the sacrifices the characters make and all that they bear, they show that women may be physically weaker than men, but they are emotionally stronger...and that is their greatest strength

thanks for explaining uzee. I agree with you. the show is based on issues which are relevant in our society. Yes there are mothers out there who want their daughters to have a relation with a man from a rich household. Yes their are families out there who, who remarry their sons only to get a grandson. So these issues exist in our society.

And this show is not like other shows in which the villains are very unrealistic. I love this show. All the characters are veryyyy real!!

First of all I would like to say welcome to IF and the Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo section geetamonk.

It is fine expressing your opinions as long as you back them up and express them in a mature and debatable way, which you did.😊
I can understand where you come from and to a certain extent I agree with you. Not all men treat thier wives in the way the Thakur does for example. However, this serial shows both aspects of your point. On the one hand you have Ranvijay and the Thakur who really don't treat thier wives properly. On the other hand you have Shekhar who is the complete opposite and won't even touch Laali because of how much he respects women. So my point being, this show doesn't show all women being treated unfairly by men.
..and the fact is that a lot of women in India are suffering in silence. This soap is a good medium to increase awareness of some of the things that happen in villages and rural parts of India.
