making show Shaadi Street is finally going on air. The show was supposed to launch two years back has now been renamed as Gum Hua Hosh . This weekly will replace Star Plus' low profile show Lucky slotted at 8. p.m on Saturdays.
"It's a family drama shot revolving around various families residing at Shaadi Street in Benaras. Not a typical saas-bahu saga. The concept of the show is very unique and I'm sure people will love to watch it. Our creative team is busy in deciding the final launch date," says director Rajan Shahi.
It was assumed that Gum…is a remake of the 80's popular show Nukkad. But that's only one part of the story. "It's not based on Nukkad but we've got permission from the American serial Brides Avenue, a telenovella. However, we've made lot of changes in the story over the last two years. Some of the scenes have been re-shot with a film like quality," adds Shahi.
The starcast includes Rati Pandey, Hrishikesh Pandey, Manoj Bidwai and Sangeet Haldipur.
Elaborating on the storyline of the show, Rati says, "I play the main protagonist Nandini, who's bubbly and chirpy. She also believes in living life on her own conditions. She wants to avenge her father's murder and is in search of the killer."
The plot thickens when Hrishikesh Pandey plays Rati's love interest and later she finds that he's the real murderer. Manoj Biddvai plays the second lead in the show.
"I play Nikhil, who's a fun loving but a straightforward guy living in US. He comes down to India to build a mall cum multiplex and somehow falls in love with Nandini (Rati). Then the love triangle unfolds."
