Aisha Aisha
Sonam Kapoor has her hopes pinned on her next release, Aisha, a romantic comedy based on Jane Austen's novel Emma.
The actress has been on an all time high since the beginning of the project and had been waiting to sink in her teeth in to the role. The film also stars Abhay Deol, Cyrus Sahukar, Arunoday Singh and is being produced by her sister Rhea.
Emma was a comic novel about the perils of misconstrued romance and Sonam romances all three men in the film. 'Aisha is a girl who needs to realise she is in love...' Sonam tweeted on Twitter a few days back. The actress has been divulging a lot of information about the film only after being reprimanded by her producer-sister Rhea, she tweeted, '@RheaKapoor okay okay, ms producer no more tweets about Aisha!!!'
Sonam pretty much is the star of the film but male lead Abhay Deol isn't too insecure, he told us earlier, "It is Sonam's vehicle and it the story is from her view point, still I play the main lead actor, the role of Mr. Knightly. All those who have read the book will know exactly what kind of a role it is and how well-defined it is."
The actress has even got a new haircut for the film and is ecstatic about the international designers she's going to flaunt in the film. 'Got a beautiful haircut by Avaan at bblunt….really excited about wearing all the clothes Pernia has shopped for Aisha. Yaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!' she tweeted excitedly.
Her last two films sank without a trace, and a source on the sets revealed that Sonam is leaving no stone unturned to give her career best in this project, a la Kareena Kapoor in Jab We Met since the story revolves around her.
The insider reveals, "Her character's effulgence is an extension of what she did in Delhi 6 but with a more devil-may-care attitude. She plays a match-maker who herself does not know whom to choose as her man when it comes to her marriage, and Sonam is having a ball with men eating off her hands, on and off the sets, she rules."
Sonam might have most of all the fashion magazines under her belt and a number of advertisements but she still has to prove her mark on the big screen. Let's hope critics and audiences don't burst Sonam's bubble after the film's release…yaaaaaa!
