The source says, "With this trademark dialogue delivery, Sanjay Dutt brings in quite a few laughs even though he plays a villain. He has also incorporated a sing-song manner of mouthing a few dialogues that will work especially with children."
According to director Sujoy Ghosh, in spite of the fact that Sanju has played a suave businessman in Kidnap or a tough cop in Shoot Out At Lokhandawala, the image that has always worked with Sanjay Dutt is when he blends humour with a little bit of villainy much akin to what he did like Munnabhai or Khalnayak. And that is exactly what Sujoy Ghosh wants to cash in on where he is the villain of the piece in the lives of Aladin (Riteish Deshmukh), Genius The Genie (Amitabh Bachchan) and Jasmine (Jacqueline Fernandez).
Sujoy says, "Roping in Sanjay for the role of Ringmaster worked superbly for us due to two reasons. First and foremost the character is such that it could have been done only by Sanjay. Secondly, our Ringmaster is more of a lovable character than being the quintessential villain. His mannerisms, body language, the way he talks and the words he uses give him a certain edge."
Aladin is a contemporary look at the classic fairy tale.
