Online piracy stings Kaminey, Life Partner

If anything that plagues our filmmakers, more than a film's report card is piracy. It's a virus, which gets stronger every time you try to detoxify it. Even after various measures have been taken to curb it, it has its head held high till date. And the recent to get inflicted by it are Kaminey and Life Partner (LP). But this time they have turned too audacious for the film fraternity's endurance. They have not only posted the links to watch the films online but are also advertising it on a media portal urging the viewers to watch the latest films online, free of cost!

In a press release posted on the website prlog.com, the film pirates have openly invited fans to watch Kaminey and LP online. The release states that people should avoid going outdoors due to the Swine Flu scare and watch movies indoors on a portal name moovyshoovy.com. However, the print of Kaminey is very obscure which suggests that it's a handiwork of a pirate who might have recorded the film in his handy cam and later uploaded it for circulation.

When Vishal Bharadwaj's office was contacted in this regard, they were visibly surprised and dejected. They said that they have not permitted any company to upload the film on any website. Prakash Mathur, Vice-president, Operations, UTV Motion Pictures, was more vocal about the whole issue. He said that while physical piracy can be controlled to some extent, its online counterpart is a tough nut to crack. Though there are agencies tracking the sites that show movies online, there isn't a foolproof system to keep a tab on it. During Delihi-6, they had sent legal notices to several websites but since these portals are operated from abroad, they can't be dragged to Indian courts. However, for Kaminey the vigil is even more stringent and they are tracking as many sites as possible.

Apart from moovyshoovy.com, other websites offering films online are gamingharbor.com, maskfilms.com and nowdownloadall.com. Most of these sites are operated from UK, Germany, Canada and other European nations.

well can't help it but truely all those who are seeing Kaminey online are loosers because they are missing such a fab experience!! Kaminey needs to be seen in theatres coz it's photography, sound-effects n all are for theatres only and the colour of the movie is all kala kala kind of, actually i was thinking to take a flashlight before going to watch the movie.
