Arshad Warsi has been lingering in the shadows, with bits and pieces of roles until he unleashed a new life with 'Munnabhai MBBS'. His character 'Circuit' has got etched in the memory of movie lovers. After this there was no stopping for this talented actor, who can make people laugh and cry with ease on the strength of his smooth acting skills. Arshad is lapped up with many great films and will be having quite some forthcoming releases. We talk to him about his newfound role of a actor after a vacation of three years!

Excerpts from the Interview:

What does this success means to you after your days of struggle?

Truly I'm basking in the success and hoping that it never ends for me. I really want it to stay forever and ever with me. Success did knock at my door a bit late. But I've no fusses against the late arrival. I'm rather happy that it came. After three years of idleness it at last came.

How were your hard days?

I've never made any hue and cry about my hard days. Nor did I come out smartly with any excuses for being in delusion. But the days of employment are still clear in my mind. I used to sit idle in home. I felt humiliated and embarrassed. Nobody was ready to work with me or even give me a chance to prove myself. I have been let down by big banners. I don't want to name them. The past is behind me and I'm looking for the future.

Do you have anybody or anything to blame for it?

There was too much hype attached to my first film. I was good in my debut film. But that was not enough. Though I started with a big venture I never thought that I would be the next superstar. I've to blame whatever has happened to my career on myself. I did some very bad movies. And also on my secretary who kept pushing me to work in those films.

Have the success of Munnabhai and Salaam Namaste changed all?

Yes for the better. (Laughs) I'm poured with so many offers from everywhere. But I'm careful not to act in haste and take cautious moves. I'm playing safe by signing only the big banner ventures.

What are the big films that you've signed in?

I've signed Golmaal with Ajay Devgan and Tusshar, Black & White with Suniel Shetty and Kabul Express with John Abraham. Currently I'm shooting for Kabul Express in Afghanistan. It has been tough shooting there due to the adverse geographical conditions. But the film has come out very well and our hardship has been paid. It's one of the best films of my career and I look proudly at it.

Are you getting offers for comedy roles?

Too many! After the success of the films with me in comic roles the offers haven't stopped pouring. But I had the guts to refuse them all one after other. My comic roles in Munnabhai, Hulchul and Saalam Namaste were all different from each other. So only different kind of comedies are okay for me.

You are working with big producers. How do you feel?

I'm lucky enough to get the opportunity to work with Vinod Vidhu Chopra, David Dhawan, Priyadarshan and Yash Chopra. It's good that they have looked forward to work with me and realized my worth. But I don't to create any stir about it.
