Kaminey And Life Partner To Lose 25% Weekend Business

Kaminey and Life Partner will lose around 23-25% of their all India weekend business due to the closure of theatres in Mumbai and Pune because of swine flu. The 23-25% lose will be if theatres remain closed all weekend, there are hopes theatres may be allowed to resume business on Saturday or Sunday.

Regions like Mumbai and Pune were going to be where both films were probably going to do their best business. Life Partner is a comedy and comedies normally do best in Mumbai city.

Kaminey was probably going to do big business in both Mumbai and Pune. The lose of business could get higher if other areas follow with closures.

There are reports that Bangalore also has many people being treated for swine flu but as yet cinemas are running as normal. The exhibition sector has been hit hard in 2009. First there was the strike which lasted two months and footfalls at cinemas dropped 90% and now swine flu which has led to closure of cinemas in some parts of the country.

That's unfortunate that due to the swine flu, the films will face losses. I am sure both films would've opened well in the cinemas.

That is just too bad.. one good film that came out this summer is not going to get well deserved big opening.. but some really bland films.. wid no story buy hype got a great opening because of huge star cast.. But if this movie is really good then public will support it no matter what..

Kaminey Opens Very Strongly Life Partner Below Average

Kaminey has opened very strongly at most places in India. The opening is excellent in Delhi/NCR, East Punjab and South while other circuits are good. Multiplexes are excellent all over. Good single screens are also fabulous like Payal in Dehradun has collected 81,874 in its first three shows against a capacity of 85,653. making it 95.59% collection so far. The film has not been released in Mumbai city and Pune which will mean around 23-25% lower all India collections than normal. The first day should settle with around 90% collections.

Life Partner opened to a below average response with afternoon shows showing around 35-40%. The first day may finish at around 50-55% collections and the film will have to rely on word of mouth. Again no Mumbai city and Pune means 23-25% lower all India collections for Life Partner
